Steering wheel began rapidly shaking when parked or when in drive. This shaking began to make steering dangerous as it would make me swerve while operating the vehicle. This began a week before the power steering went completely out and now the dash has a message for power steering assist fault. The vehicle is also throwing code B2278. I have seen on the ford official recall list that there is a recall on certain ford escapes made in certain manufacturing states but I believe my vehicle is affected by this recall.

My girlfriend's electric power steering went out when she got home. Something that it was previously recalled for. Also while she was driving she was getting really bad shaking in her steering wheel this is the second time this has happened and it is really dangerous.

I had my car programming updated and just recently, my power steering went completely out which is causing me to need my whole steering column replaced. I contacted Ford, however, they stated since they "closed" recall 14s05, they would not cover the damages. My car has been in the shop for a week now as I battle with Ford. Ford and sterling mccall are rude and will need assist with this issue as the recall repair has failed the 1st time and now the power steering will need to be replaced. I was in motion with my 6 month old daughter when the steering when out, but luckily we were able to avoid an accident.

It kept stalling on freeway that I was barely missed by a diesal truck hitting me. I told them it was the throttle body control power train that's keep stalling. They picked the car up kept it for 2days didn't fix it but wanted to charge me $344 for repairs that wasn't done. Got car back in same position and it stalled again on me in middle of freeway almost causing a crash. I had to buy my part and had someone to put the throttle body on. Now it's the steering wheel it won't turn properly it's so hard to turn like it's lock cause it make a clicking sound before it completely lock. I contacted the dealership a

I sent this email to Ford in september 2014 I was in an auto accident where by another vehicle hit a deer which landed on the driver side window which shattered into thousands of tiny shards of glass. For over 2 years, I have being dealing with thousands of tiny shards embedded through out my body (face, lips, hands, arms, legs, neck, chest) which over time are working their way out. It is very painful and leaving scars and disrupting my sleep on a regular basis. When the vehicle was repaired, I turned on the heat for the first time and hundreds of shards of glass blew out the heater vents. My vehicle VIN number is [xxx]. I think you should test the windshields of similar cars from that lot to make sure the safety glass was properly kilned or whatever treatment process so that o

The vehicle was parked in a driveway on a fairly cold day (temperatures in the low 30s). After loading the rear of the vehicle and upon closing the liftgate, the rear window shattered. Prior to this happening, there were no signs of a chipped/damaged window. The liftgate was not slammed harder than usual and there were no items blocking it from closing.

My car was parked in front of a friends house and we were unloading bags from the trunk. A friend closed the trunk (not just the window, the entire door) when the back windshield exploded shooting shards of glass all over the ground, my car and the people standing nearby. No one was seriously injured thank goodness but we were all shocked. The door was closed in a normal matter but it sounded like a gun had been shot into the window when it happened. We had no idea what had just occurred but after looking into it myself, many other Ford escape owners seem to have had the same issue with their windows exploding for no apparent reason. This is a huge safety issue as well as an inconvenience. What if someone had been sitting in the back seat or my dog had been in the trunk where she often sit

As I was pulling out of my neighborhood to drive to work, the car barely made it into the lane of traffic before it stalled completely. I made it to the curb and was quite shaken by this incident. No warning lights had come on. This was very startling to me. After a few minutes, the car started but it shook as I shifted it into drive. I decided to drive with great care to the dealership. On the way there, as I was on an interstate road, it stalled again and I was frightened. I made it to the right curb. It was storming and I called my insurance company for a tow truck to deliver the car to autonation Ford jacksonville at 10720 philips highway in jacksonville, fl (904-292-3325). The problem was diagnosed as a faulty throttle body. The repair costs totaled $498.86. *tr

While driving, the vehicle was not able to accelerate and the wrench light came on. After pulling over and restarting the vehicle, the vehicle would resume functioning properly for a very short period of time and then the same thing would occur once again. Luckily, these events occurred on side roads and not the highway. This is very dangerous and should be recalled as a preventative measure. I would not drive the vehicle even to the dealer after the incidents. It is appalling that a prevalent incident is not being taken care of by the dealer. Safety of customers keeps customers alive to be consumers. *tr

I was driving along at 35-40 MPH, in traffic, and the gas pedal completely quit! And a little yellow wrench showed up on my dashboard. No other lights showed up. A complete failure of the gas pedal ensued. I had to coast through traffic to the side of the road. I found that if I turned off engine and restarted car, the "wrench" went away and I had power until the next time it happened. Mechanic said this was "limp mode." I took it into dealer but they could not get the "code" to determine the problem. Over two weeks this became more frequent and after the 4th time, the "check engine" light came on. They finally could get the code and it was a total throttle body failure! I stopped driving the car and am waiting for the part. At this time, I have an appointment for repair on monday, dec

While driving on surface streets the "wrench" indicator light came on and the car went into limp mode. I got to a parking lot and shut off the engine. After about a minute I restarted the engine, the wrench light went out and all seemed ok. After driving about 6-7 miles on the interstate a repeat of the problem happened. I again shut off the engine. After restarting, I drove for another 6-7 miles and had the car again go into limp mode. After restarting the car the engine light came on and stayed on with no further problems. The next day all lights were off and have stayed off since then. I have made an appointment to have the car looked at on jan 2, 2014. I feel that this is a very unsafe condition and should be looked at very closely by the NHTSA. *tr

I had turned off the highway and was traveling down a busy road when my car completely stopped without warning. Luckily, I was in the right lane and on a bit of a downward slope and was able to steer the "dead" car off the road. I turned off the engine and waited a minute. I turned on the car and it started again. I am concerned as I do a lot of highway driving and if my car suddenly stops like that again, there could be dire consequences. The earliest a dealer can look at my car is january 8th. My local dealer - january 14th. Today is december 28th. After reading some of these reports, I am afraid to drive it. Meanwhile, I need to rent a car, until someone at a Ford dealer is able to look at it this is not the first time this has happened. However, after previously having the ca
