2010 GMC Sierra owner complaints

Tl* takata recall. The contact owns a 2010 GMC sierra 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags). The parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer (coachella valley Buick GMC, 78960 varner rd, indio, ca 92203 (760) 565-2609) confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue, but could not confirm when the parts would become available for the recall repair. The contact received a notice from tk holdings, alerting him that takata filed for bankruptcy. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

The vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic or dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags). My dash is cracked about 2 inches long on corner by airbag whent do dealer said nothing they can do

I received a recall from GMC on the airbag issue. Dated july 2016, I have heard nothing from anybody on this.

Takata recall received recall but no parts available to repair dealer states no updates only from customers

I received a safety recall letter july 2016 for the takata air bag. I called the dealer service garage in el paso, texas and was told that they have not received the air bags. So, they could not rep[lace the defective air bag.

Takata recall- I have went to the dealership where I purchased the truck and they won't help me in resolving this safety issue. Mckenzie motors 6500 caroline st.milton fl 32570 850-665-2045. I live in florida where it is warm year round and my whole dashboard is falling in. I saved for ever and paid for this truck in cash. I'm the safety director at nas whiting field and this is a fatality waiting to happen. Please advise.

Dash is broken on the passenger's side just to the left of where the passenger airbag deploys, and then it is also broken on the driver's side above the instrument cluster. It is obvious that the center of the dash is lacking support and it vibrates badly and has caused this breakage.

Passenger side dash is cracking right behind the air bag. Had a similar issue fixed in february or march of 2014. Almost 3 years later the new dash is cracked. Seems to be a common problem in 2007-2013 gm trucks and SUV's. I just noticed the crack yesterday december 11th, 2016. The crack has started within the last month that I can recall.

Cracked dash by passenger airbag and over instrument cluster.

The dash has cracked right above the passenger air bag . The truck was cleaned and detailed on wednesday november 25th 2015 , parked back in the garage and when I left in it friday november 27 , 2015 I noticed the dash was cracked . This is a major concern for me since it is the passenger air compartment and could result in flying debris for an occupant inside my truck .

Hooked up a trailer (first time ever), discovered that the trailer lights were not working, checked fuses, found a melted fuse. Found a recall for same problem, however it is VIN specific and VIN is not covered. Took to dealership, and reported problem to GMC, was told to report it here. Also found a VIN specific recall for the driver control button for the passenger window (sometimes works, sometimes doesn't) and again this VIN is not covered.

The contact stated that when the pistons were loose and struck the cylinder wall, it would loosen up the engine and caused an abnormal knocking from the engine. The dealer was notified of the failure who advised the contact that the failure was nothing to be concerned about and was not hurting the engine. The manufacturer was notified who stated to the contact that they would speak with the dealer to determine the remedy for the failure. There were no recalls for the failure. The failure mileage was 5,000 and the current mileage was 24,000. Updated 01/10/12*lj

Engine lifter issue/low oil pressure problem relates to having the lifters replaced. The 5.3 vortec engine has afm (active fuel management). Dealer wants $5800 to fix the lifter issue, while estimates to replace the engine with necessary parts runs between $6900 and $7200. Is this a manufacturer problem? Truck has 52,000 miles and has been serviced at regular intervals. Truck was parked when the issue became evident during the startup. Truck is now at the dealer (towed) awaiting repair.

With no warning truck just started jumping in neutral after take off from red light litterly almost getting hit from behind and on coming traffic and than I let off the gas pedal than it jerks back in gear and doesn’t want to stop and wants to jerk to keep moving like transmission won’t stop pulling had to turn truck off it is something electrical in transmission I can pull fuse and it resets than it’s normal till it decides to do it again I’ve got on line and notice there is a lot more of the same truck and year having same issue and people have complained also mechanical at dealer says they have had many complaints on same issue I need my truck fixed it gave no warning and is to dangerous to drive like it is

I was traveling home from vacation and about 70 miles an hour in my 2010 GMC sierra and all of a sudden my truck revved up and my transmission went out. I about got hit from behind. I pulled over and there was smoke coming from the hood. I open the hood and there's transmission fluid from the front to the back under the truck. One of the cooling lines rubbed the other and chaffed a hole. Cost me 150 dollars in towing fees. Gm doesn't want to honor their warranty because they removed this part off their warranty in 2009. Trying to cover up their mistake .I called gm priority care and they had the truck towed to beck and masten gm. They are trying to charge me for the repairs when its a defect on gm's part. Tl* the contact owns a 2010 GMC sierra hybrid (na). The contact stated that the brakes grabbed when the vehicle was coming to a stop, which made the vehicle come to an abrupt jerking stop. The contact also stated that when slowing down from higher speeds, he had to depress the brake pedal with extreme force. The dealer gave the contact a memo from the manufacturer to pump the brakes on the hybrids for a smoother stop.
