While driving down the road service traction control reduce engine power and stability control light came on. Car engine lost power and I thought it was going to blow up it made the whole car shake. You shut it off for a few and restart it and its like nothing ever happened. Not to happy about this I have not had the car a year. Guess a person needs to die from this matter before there is a recall on this what a joke. And the worst is Chevy will not cover any of this even if the car is under a warranty. *tr

The tall rear seat headrests severely obscure vision to the rear when backing up. The middle rear seat headrest is the worst offender, and completely blocks my rear vision to the point where I cannot tell if there is a vehicle or other object behind me while driving down the road or backing up. It appears that the problem has been recognized by gm as I have noticed the 2012 impala does not have this center rear headrest! This is an accident waiting to happen and a recall needs to be issued for these older model impalas so these rear seat headrests can be removed. I already submitted a complaint to gm (reference #[xxx]) information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

When taking left turns the car makes a loud grind noise then the stability controll will turn on. Now the check engine light and stability controll light popped on while driving while also having engine power reduced which then applied my brakes causing me to almost go off the road.

The rear defogger on my vehicle stopped working. Investigation lead to a video on the internet showing a melted connector on the passenger side fuse box. Following the steps in the video I found the exact same burned up connector under the carpet of my vehicle. Photos included. The connector was clearly not designed to handle the current the fuse was allowing to flow through. This is a fire risk as well as an inconvenience as now my rear defogger is inoperative. I never smelled the burning part but lost clearing ability about three weeks ago when driving in cold weather.

i own a 2011 chevy impala 4 door that has a very serious engine issue. I was on my way home and suddenly the service stability trac, and check engine light came on, then the message center displayed reduced engine power and low oil pressure then the engine shut off. I tried to restart the vehicle and it would not restart. I got it towed to a parking lot where it sat over night then it would restart but only for a few minutes. Once I got a scanner hooked up it had a p0642 code lost 5 volt reference circuit 1 and a cam sensor code I worked on this vehicle for two days and still have not found the issue. this vehicle needs a recall since this is a recurring issue with a few different model years of this vehicle and its always the same issue word for word, check engine light comes on, service

While driving at any speed the car shuts off. It completely loses power. No power steering or brakes. I was going 60 on a highway and it stalled thank god it wasn't rush hour and there weren't many cars around me. This happens at 10mph 30, 40, 50. No matter how fast or slow you are going the car shuts off and leaves you with no brakes or power steering. This is a huge safety issue and should be a recall. It has been diagnosed as a faulty ignition switch. I have had it looked at by 3 different mechanics and they all say that is what it is. Now I have to pay to get a new ignition put in. I have had the car 18 months and new problems occur constantly with it. Chevy should be paying for a new ignition switch to be installed.

I started my car after a cold night and immediately got a "service stabilitrak", "engine power reduced", and "service trance ion control" messages. The car had an extremely rough idle and then would not accelerate to more than 25 MPH. I returned home and made an appointment at the dealership. Later, I was ready to take the car into the dealer and it started fine with no error messages or check engine light. I called the dealer and they said it must have been a computer error that fixed itself. Well, it's a week later now and I am having the issues again except restarting the engine does not fix it anymore. This is a serious issue and needs to be resolved by gm and not cost the many people experiencing this issue hundreds of dollars to fix! *tr

While driving, the following lights came on 3 months after purchase. Service stabilitrak, engine power reduced, service traction control. Turned car off for about 30 minutes, and lights went off and were able to drive home. That monday, took car to dealer, and were told it was a part that had something to do with the fuel. Out of warrant, but they covered it anyway considering I just purchased the vehicle. Same lights came on again roughly about 6 months later, noticeably when it's wet out. Lights would eventually go off after car sits so after reading threads, I assumed this was normal when it was wet out. Late 2013 lights came on again, had wheel bearing replaced and lights went off for a while. Early 2014 lights are on again, and I start noticing hard shifting in transmission, but igno

12/31/2011 ODI #10441920.0

My complaint with this vehicle is visibility caused by the rear headrests when using the rear view mirror. Gm built the back seat with 3 large headrests "which cannot be removed" that blocks almost the entire rear window. When driving the car, the most I can see in the rear view mirror is the tops of the car(s) behind me, sometimes not that much. When backing up, you have to look around all three back headrests in order not to hit someone or something. These back seat headrests can be replaced by buying the 2012 impala headrest components from gm which cost at least $400.00 just for the 3 parts needed. I feel like gm should be required to replace the back seat headrests due to the hazard posed by the headrests. *kb

I was driving my car and suddenly it flashed across the screen service stabilitrak, then service traction control system, then reduced engine speed. This caused my vehicle to slow way down out of no where from 70 to less than 30, and made steering near impossible. I have my two children I drove around and I'm afraid to even drive because if there's an accident with them in the car because my cars slowing unexpectedly someone will be paying for this. This is a huge safety issue and I see all over it is and it needs to be fixed!
