Blockage can occur from mud, ice, snow, front end damage, bracket damage, the sensor not attached to the bracket properly or an aftermarket fascia installed. This fault can occur intermittently in muddy or icy/snowy conditions and is considered normal operation. Under some circumstances, a misaligned sensor can also cause the C1266 DTC, please complete an alignment procedure. There is an existing recall s34 / NHTSA 16v -302 on my vehicle. The service center, helfman Fiat alfa romeo maserati 7720 katy fwy, houston, tx 77024 is unable to remedy this defect until may 24th 2017. This is an unreasonable amount of time.
