I have a problem with the head lights are not bight enough. I can barely see the road. We had it check at the dealership and they said yes the head lights are defective just like the ones on recall but our VIN number is not listed. I have spoke to gm but they say I need to go through the dealership but the dealership says they can't do anything. I told the dealership and gm that I can not see well enough at night to be driving. It is not my eyes because my sister who has a 2013 Buick enclave drove our car and did not think the head lights were even on. She could not believe it. They want me to pay $1500.00 to get them fixed. I also told them that I was letting my insurance know so if I have an accident, I want them to go after gm and the dealership. This is a very dangerous problem. There
Back in 2020 I believe there was a known headlight issue with Cadillac vehicles. Communication was sent out to owners for a headlight reimbursement program. We unfortunately didn't receive any communication regarding this. Back in March 2022 my husband had a work trip which required him to travel hours away and during the evening. This is what prompted me to call the Cadillac Customer Service number regarding the headlights, and the headlight program once I discovered it searching the internet. Spoke to someone and a ticket was issued. Missed a call, called back and was told I could only speak that same person. So I called again, received a couple of emails, and was eventually ghosted. A week or so ago I seen on the evening news that once again Cadillac had a re-call of sorts with their
The headlights are defective on thousands of Cadillac srx models, 2010-2015. The light bulbs are fine but the reflective chrome inside the light peels away and the lights do produce enough light to see at night. This is certainly a safety issue and hope you investigate.
Headlights are dangerously dim. At night if I don't turn on the high beams I can't see the road. Driving with high beams also endangering the traffic coming towards me.
2013 Cadillac srx headlights are so dim that it is too dangerous to use them for night driving. Numerous other identical complaints have been made to the NHTSA. The local dealership stated that they have numerous other customers with the identical complaint. This affects more similar vehicles other than 2013. Class action law suits have been made and acted upon in both california and florida. This issue is applicable in all states and situations where the problem exists. The prescribed fix is a one-for-one replacement which would result in a similar problem down the line. . It appears that the problem is with the internal circular lens in front of the lamp which is so opaque that light from the lamp does not go through properly but is dimmed to a point where it makes the headlamps unsafe.
The headlamps do not shine as brightly as needed to illuminate the road. Affects driving safety not to be able to see on unlit roads at night.
The headlights are damaged from normal use. the lights leak water which shorts out the light ballast , the repair requires removal of the front facia of the car which is a $400 repair. the interior lens of the light is heat damaged which dims the headlight. Gm wants 1300 for each headlight plus labor. Apparently the enginers at cadillac did not know how to build a headlight, so them made temporary headlights from the factory. still waiting for permant headlights. Bill
Service advanced front lighting that deals with adaptive forward lighting for Cadillac srx headlights. Now this is a known safety issue that Cadillac refuses to take care of . There have been class action law suits filed on this topic and cases won in two states florida & california where gm had to replace these faulty headlights at their expense. What about those of us in the 48 states that have these problems and Cadillac says you have to pay $ 1,400 upfront then appeal the repair and they will see if it is warranted for reimbursement. Look folks at nhts this is a safety issue when a vehicle's headlights are not working properly and the government needs to go after general motors and have them fix this at their expense. This is just like the takata air bag recall. Doesn't nhts car
The low beams have a very low output. I have replaced the bulbs with the highest output bulbs the auto parts store has which did not improver the low beam output. This makes it very dangerous driving at night. I have to use my bright lights to see at night. This is a constant problem and it does not mater what type of road or if the vehicle is moving.
Ran off the road due to poor visibility with low beam head lights. Could not see the curve in the country road...no lines were on the road. It was raining and the low beam lights failed to illuminate the road. Tried running with high beams but kept getting flashed by oncoming drivers headlights. Was going slow due to poor visibility so no damage....just very unsafe.
The low beam headlights are extremely dim and make night driving difficult if not impossible due to safety. This appears to be a known defect in this model vehicle but Cadillac will not acknowledge. The halogen bulbs have been replaced three times but it does not help remedy the problem. The mechanic stated that the issue is with the design of the reflector in the lighting assembly and that the whole headlight assembly has to be replaced to rectify the problem. This is a very expensive solution for the consumer and one which is because of an apparent design flaw according to the Cadillac mechanic.
Bought a 2013 srx and drove it home at night , could not see on dim lights and used bright lights to get home. Called dealer and was told to have it checked out I am having new bulbs put in but after reading this web site I am not thinking they will be any better. These lights are so dangerous and the cars should not be allowed to be resold until fixed. Very disappointed in every way, you should do your job and do a recall as gm is not doing theirs.
I am noticing that my head lights are very dim on my 2013 srx Cadillac, feeling very unsafe to drive at night.

No low beam headlight visibility. Cadillac said there is no fix.
VEHICLE FIRE & MOLD. My 2013 Cadillac SRX had water leaking in/draining incorrectly from the sunroof, which in return pooled water in the front and rear of my vehicle. This water caused my trunk to COMPLETELY stop operating (water pooled at trunk latch/rusted), as well as water to saturate the electrical components near the front of my car and a FIRE TO ITNITE WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE! Fire truck responded, pooled water found, mold also found because of previously unknown pooled water, and insurance totaled vehicle. SO SCARY! SO DISAPOINTED! THIS LEAKING WATER ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED ON MANY FORUMS FOR THE SAME CADILLAC MAKE AND MODEL AND IT THREATENED MY LIFE. The sun roof draining tubes MUST BE RECALLED. I’m now out of a vehicle because of it and just grateful I was able to exit m

I had come to a stop to turn left. I was waiting for the traffic to clear, when there was adequate distance between cars, I pushed on the gas pedal and nothing happened. The car just stood still, no lights came on, no warnings, no engine rev, nothing happened for about 3-4 secs. However, by this point the cars were closing in on me and finally after I let off the pedal and slammed down on it again, my srx moved and cleared the road way. It was very scary to be sitting there and expecting the car to move when the gas pedal is depressed and nothing happens. *tr

Srx serviced on 11/11/13 because of warning messages-service rear axel&AWD on 10/30/13-called dealer immediately/arranged service on 11/11/13-mileage 6045). Only did computer updates. On 11/13/13(mileage 6277) came to a complete stop and when turning right the car was in very slow motion & barely moving with my foot on the gas, finally it moved. It happened again on 11/15/13 (mileage 6498) but turning left & another car was approaching on the right, thought I was going to be hit. Called dealer & told to bring it back. Dealer quite a distance from me afraid to drive the car there. On 11/19/13 (thought I could get to gm dealer (sat from 11/15/13) & turning right it did it again. I was quite upset and called onstar to tow it. Gm deale
