I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE HEAD LIGHTS ARE NOT BIGHT ENOUGH. I CAN BARELY SEE THE ROAD. WE HAD IT CHECK AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID YES THE HEAD LIGHTS ARE DEFECTIVE JUST LIKE THE ONES ON RECALL BUT OUR VIN NUMBER IS NOT LISTED. I HAVE SPOKE TO GM BUT THEY SAY I NEED TO GO THROUGH THE DEALERSHIP BUT THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING. I TOLD THE DEALERSHIP AND GM THAT I CAN NOT SEE WELL…
Back in 2020 I believe there was a known headlight issue with Cadillac vehicles. Communication was sent out to owners for a headlight reimbursement program. We unfortunately didn't receive any communication regarding this. Back in March 2022 my husband had a work trip which required him to travel hours away and during the evening. This is what prompted me to call the Cadillac Customer Service nu…
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE DEFECTIVE ON THOUSANDS OF CADILLAC SRX MODELS, 2010-2015. THE LIGHT BULBS ARE FINE BUT THE REFLECTIVE CHROME INSIDE THE LIGHT PEELS AWAY AND THE LIGHTS DO PRODUCE ENOUGH LIGHT TO SEE AT NIGHT. THIS IS CERTAINLY A SAFETY ISSUE AND HOPE YOU INVESTIGATE.
HEADLIGHTS ARE DANGEROUSLY DIM. AT NIGHT IF I DON'T TURN ON THE HIGH BEAMS I CAN'T SEE THE ROAD. DRIVING WITH HIGH BEAMS ALSO ENDANGERING THE TRAFFIC COMING TOWARDS ME.
2013 CADILLAC SRX HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM THAT IT IS TOO DANGEROUS TO USE THEM FOR NIGHT DRIVING. NUMEROUS OTHER IDENTICAL COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE NHTSA. THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THEY HAVE NUMEROUS OTHER CUSTOMERS WITH THE IDENTICAL COMPLAINT. THIS AFFECTS MORE SIMILAR VEHICLES OTHER THAN 2013. CLASS ACTION LAW SUITS HAVE BEEN MADE AND ACTED UPON IN BOTH CALIFORNIA AND FLORIDA. THI…
The headlamps do not shine as brightly as needed to illuminate the road. Affects driving safety not to be able to see on unlit roads at night.
The headlights are damaged from normal use. the lights leak water which shorts out the light ballast , the repair requires removal of the front facia of the car which is a $400 repair. the interior lens of the light is heat damaged which dims the headlight. Gm wants 1300 for each headlight plus labor. Apparently the enginers at cadillac did not know how to build a headlight, so them made tem…
SERVICE ADVANCED FRONT LIGHTING THAT DEALS WITH ADAPTIVE FORWARD LIGHTING FOR CADILLAC SRX HEADLIGHTS. NOW THIS IS A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE THAT CADILLAC REFUSES TO TAKE CARE OF . THERE HAVE BEEN CLASS ACTION LAW SUITS FILED ON THIS TOPIC AND CASES WON IN TWO STATES FLORIDA & CALIFORNIA WHERE GM HAD TO REPLACE THESE FAULTY HEADLIGHTS AT THEIR EXPENSE. WHAT ABOUT THOSE OF US IN THE 48 STATES THAT HA…
THE LOW BEAMS HAVE A VERY LOW OUTPUT. I HAVE REPLACED THE BULBS WITH THE HIGHEST OUTPUT BULBS THE AUTO PARTS STORE HAS WHICH DID NOT IMPROVER THE LOW BEAM OUTPUT. THIS MAKES IT VERY DANGEROUS DRIVING AT NIGHT. I HAVE TO USE MY BRIGHT LIGHTS TO SEE AT NIGHT. THIS IS A CONSTANT PROBLEM AND IT DOES NOT MATER WHAT TYPE OF ROAD OR IF THE VEHICLE IS MOVING.
Common questions
How serious is the lighting problem on the 2013 cadillac SRX?
It's a documented issue but not catastrophic. 208 complaints have been filed. Repairs average $250 and most owners catch it before it causes a breakdown.
At what mileage does the lighting typically fail?
Mileage data is limited for this issue. Owners report failures across a wide range, suggesting cause is more about driving conditions and maintenance than mileage alone.
What does it cost to fix?
Independent shops typically charge around $250 for lighting repairs on this vehicle. Dealer pricing tends to run 20-40% higher. The exact figure depends on the specific failure mode, parts availability, and your local labor rates. If you're outside factory warranty, an extended service contract often covers this category.
Are there any recalls related to lighting?
No active recalls currently cover lighting issues on this vehicle. The complaints filed represent owner-reported failures that haven't risen to the level of a manufacturer-issued recall — but they're still worth knowing about before you buy or budget for repairs.
