When parked on an incline, the car experiences failure in shifting from park to other gears. The gear lever will physically move to other gear positions, however the car will not switch from park to other gears. We have had to manually push the car forward to get it to switch out of park. It seems to be some kind of failure between the sensors sending information to the transmission control module which is not allowing the vehicle to calculate gear shifting correctly. This has happened on 3 separate occasions.

On October 16, 2025, while I was working and driving my vehicle, I experienced a sudden failure after stopping to complete a delivery. When I returned to my car and attempted to shift into drive, the vehicle would not shift gears. I was fortunate this occurred while I was pulled over on the side of the road. The problem was determined to be a failure of the shift cable connecting the shifter to the transmission. Because of this failure, the vehicle could not be safely driven. I was required to have the vehicle towed home. Since that date, the vehicle has been unusable. It has now been more than two and a half months without a repair. I contacted the Dodge dealership where I purchased the vehicle in 2012. The dealership confirmed this issue is covered under an active safety recall. Howev
My vehicle is completely unreliable. Any time the speed reaches 40 MPH or more it gives a transmission service message and shuts off. Additionally if it is idle for any length of time (as in a drive-thru) it will shut off then as well. There has been a recall on this car but the parts are not even available. I have a piece of junk in my driveway that I am currently making payments on as well as full coverage insurance. Very fed-up and disappointed that I have no leagle recourse!!! I am just expected to continue to pay for an undriveable car.
I have been having the same issue and a burning smell happening. In october the dealer replaced the TCM at 33,000 miles and stated I was lucky to be under warranty since it would cost $600+ out of pocket. Now on christmas morning I had the check engine light, service transmission message, and autostick not available message display. I was able to limp home to have r, n, d show gear not available. After waiting I turned the car on and the messages cleared. Then 2 days later I was an hour late to work since the messages and shifting problem occurred on the highway. During traffic stoppages I could not get up to speed fast enough and almost caused an accident. The message and issue cleared again when I left work and I drove home but now it shifts at 5,000+ RPM when accelerating after a stop s

The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact stated while driving approximately 55-60 MPH, the transmission seized in neutral(N). The contact had experienced the failure four times. The contact stated that once the transmission had seized, the transmission overheated. The contact had to wait for the transmission to cool down. The contact stated that after the first failure, the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and was diagnosed with transmission control module failure. However, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was informed that the vehicle had been repaired under recall in 2019. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The failure mileage was 91,600.
Came up to a stop sign, drove off and went to shift into 2nd (standard transmission) and my shifter was loose. Gear is stuck in first.
Was driving the car down the freeway when all the warning lights on the dash lit up. The car lost power steering and started to shut down. I had to fight to get it off the road since the power steering was gone. All the lights remained lit up. I believe it's the PCM do to other recall but my car is a manual and the recall is for automatics only.

The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time to do the recall repair. While driving at various speeds, the gear shift malfunctioned. The dealer stated that the transmission fluid was not due to be changed; however, the owners manual indicated that the transmission fluid needed to be changed at 50,000 miles. The vehicle was not repaired and the transmission fluid was not changed. The failure mileage was approximately 52,000. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. VIN tool confirms parts not available. Updated 04/21/2016*lj the consumer stated there was an odor inside the
I got in my car, started in, placed it in drive and pulled out of my driveway. I got no more than 4 feet and the transmission shifted into neutral on its own from drive and then stop moving. I put the brake on, moved the gear stick into park and attempted to restart the car. It would not turn over. I looked down at the gear shift and realized it was still in drive and said the same on the dash. Repeated tries proved to be fruitless. The car is now engaged in drive and prevents me from removing my key from the ignition.
Certain times car will not start. Once vehicle is able to start dash will say service transmission and gear not available. That is for forward or reverse. While driving feels like transmission would shift from 1 to 3 gear. No power and absolutely no awnser from dealership on problem

Car went into neutral automatically while driving , warnings signs on the instrument panel said blind spot unavailable , auto stick unavailable , gear not available then follow by a service transmission. Couldn't get the car started back when I had to wait 10 mins , finally got it start back up as a result hard sifting occurred.
I took my car in to the dealer on december 13, 2014 for an oil change because the light was on. I was driving home after the oil change was completed and the electronic stability control malfunction light came on and the car began jerking to the left. I set up an appointment with another Dodge dealer to check out the problem and was told that the speed sensor was broken. The car is still under warranty so I was told there would be no charge for the replacement. After fixing the sensor the dealer notified me that the light still comes on. They spoke to Chrysler about the problem and were told that Chrysler does not know what it could be. I was told that they needed to keep my car over the weekend and that Chrysler offered me a loaner car while the repair is being done. *tr

I have had 5 different places change my oil and at every one the filter has either come off in my hand or create a gap in the filter seal which is caused oil to start spraying all over the car and leaking all over the ground. All five times this is happened the filter is either going off in my hand or had the seal of the filter start leaking oil. Spraying oil all over in the engine compartment and causing me to lose all of my oil on the ground and all over the engine unknown if this is caused any other problems inside the engine yet every time this is happened I was just about to get on the freeway I was able to go somewhere else and have it taken care of with minimal driving without oil . This is has happened five times now at different locations changing the oil every time it's hap

My windshield wipers run constantly when the vehicle is on. The wipers do not engage while on remote start. I went into the unconnected and turned off rain sensing module. The wipers continued to run at a slow speed. I used the windshield wiper lever to turn off the wipers. However, my wipers continued to run no matter what interval I used. My car will not dispense washer fluid with the use of the lever. I did check to ensure washer fluid tank is filled with washer fluid recommended for my vehicle.
cruise control 1 complaint shown
While driving on a highway going about 75 MPH my 2013 Dodge dart acted up out of nowhere. The car suddenly decreased in speed my entire dashboard lit up, the check engine light and the throttle control light stayed on. Luckily I was very close to an exit and put my flashers on and exited to get to safety. This car has been acting up with day one and continues to impress me with the # of repairs done. There is also something that has baffled about 5 mechanics and is still doing. The clutch keeps on sticking and the car can not be put into gear. Many mechanics and dealerships can not figure out how to fix or what is wrong. I will never buy a chrystler brand again and definitely not recommend.
