Engine stops with wrench code. Sometimes will restart and run ok. Broke down 500 miles from home and took to mechanic, problem was not found, however continued to run. Stopped again 3 times at highway speeds in dangerous situations a few months later. The second time to a mechanic the problem was discovered to be undersize fuse port on fuse block and fuse relocate kit Ford (el3z-14293-a) was installed. This seems to be known problem and owners should be advised as the vehicle loses complete power sometimes creating a dangerous situation. Fuse amperage is adequate but terminals are too small, it is moved to a larger terminal area on fuse block, this seems to be a design flaw and should be addressed.

Traveling at 70 MPH on the highway the transmission shifted into 1st gear causing the rear tires to skid and the rear of the vehicle to loose traction. This lasted a few seconds before it shifted back into 6th gear and I was able to maintain control. Slowed to stop at a red light and vehicle shifted into first gear at about 20 MPH then jerked forward when coming to a complete stop. The next day while making a left turn on a city street the transmission shifted to neutral causing me to stall into approaching traffic. Checking other complaints this appears to be an issue with the "lead frame module" with these transmissions. Took the vehicle to the dealer who replaced the module but also had to replace the transmission valve body which was apparently damaged in the erratic shifting. I
Sudden downshift of automatic transmission to first gear at 55 MPH *tt consumer stated molded lead frame was replaced and repaired. *jb
In october transmission had a couple of hard shifts. *dt
When accelerating to get on the interstate the transmission started to shift up and down at random, so I slowed to almost a stop and all shifts were fine after that
Started on the interstate and got up to about 65 MPH and truck shifted to 1st gear and began to skid and hop and was all over the road, (luckily no traffic was close to me) got control of the truck and came to a stop. No check engine lights or anything out of the ordinary on dash panel. Continued on my way at a very slow speed until I got to an exit to turn around and get back home. When getting back home again no check engine lights
On 2 occassions truck down shifted violently into 1st gear while I was driving apprx 45 MPH it happened 3days apart ,2nd time had passenger and was terrifying and I took truck immediately to mahwah Ford then to a transmission specailist
When attempting to pull into traffic from stopped position, automatic transmission begins forward motion in 5th gear and will not change from 5th gear. As accelerator is pressed rpms go up but car barely moves. Once truck is turned off and back on transmission is back in 1st gear, but this isn't always an option when cars are approaching rapidly from behind.
Uncontroled shifting issues that causes vehicle to chande gears from 6th to first gear without notice, almost causing accidents.....other eratic changes as well....2013 ford f150s are apparently know for this.....a piece called Molded Lead Frame is the cause.....they only replace when a certain code comes up.....they Ford service dept advise me not to drive it
I was driving on a highway going approximately 60 MPH when it unexpectedly downshifted. My momentum violently jerked me forward, the tires squeeled, and the RPM gauge went up to over 6,000. Another issue is that it occasionally will not shift out of first gear. I will be starting from a stop and I'll be going about 10-15mph and if I don't let off the throttle the engine will just rev up past 4000 rpms.
2 instances occurred: 1/ the vehicle was in motion on a regular street road. Speed was around 30 MPH. The gear suddenly shifted to first gear and felt like the vehicle 'looked up'. It was a brutal stop. After stopping, the vehicle restarted and drove normally 2/ few weeks later, but with very low mileage completed since the first event, the car gears shifted from 2nd to 5th. The vehicle just turned, entering a car park at low speed. After stopping completely the vehicle, it restated normally. The issue however repeated few minutes later, gears again shifting from 2 to 5.
Several issues spanning 5 months and becoming more frequent: 1. Randomly from a stop f-150 will not shift out of 1st gear for 5+ seconds while revving RPM at 5,000+. 2. The wrench warning light indicator will display on dash pane and speedometer will read 0 MPH while I am driving speeds of 45 MPH. Tachometer will work as normal. To correct I have to pull over and restart my vehicle. 3. Latest scenario 12/30/18 while highway driving my f-150 will hard downshift to a low gear and toggle between high and low gears causing violent jerking experiences producing very dangerous traffic scenarios.

steering 2 complaints shown
Twice in the last week the a warning to service the advance trac system came on and lost power steering. Making it almost impossible to drive home. The next morning it worked fine, no warnings. I am afraid to let my wife or kids drive it for safety reasons.
Driving down the road and a message pops up on the screen. It says "steering assist fault". It should have said omg don't panic and slow the truck to a complete stop and try not to die because you have lost all of your steering capabilities. I could not imagine if I was around too many vehicles or one of my children were driving the truck. This is such a major safety concern that all f150s with this potential problem should not be driven until repaired. With all of the safety measures and companies such as you guys why on earth is this truly life threatening issue allowed? Apparently, the 2013 model is not part of the recall for this problem? There are many complaints and many easily found forums talking about this issue. There has to be deaths attributed to this issue. For what is

This is related to tsb 15-0137. Although my vehicle has not failed yet, many have. My fuse #27 shows signs of melting and I will have to replace it with a larger fuse and heavier gauge wire at a cost of about $150 (including labor). It is a safety issue, as my daughter drives this truck with horses in tow. On several forums I have read that the engine shuts off while driving due to failure of the fuel delivery system. No power steering or brakes, which is a real problem with a 120 pound 20 year old at the helm with a horse trailer! The truck has just over 100,000 miles on it. This is a known Ford defect that causes a safety issue, and Ford should be paying this cost so that there is no financial impediment to safe operation of the vehicle within its planned useful life.
brakes 1 complaint shown
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 Ford f-150. While driving 60 MPH on the highway, the brakes failed when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact was able to pull off the highway and downshift to an eventual rolling stop. The contact restarted the vehicle and pumped the brakes pedal. The brake pedal eventually started to loosen up and the brakes worked normally. Benna Ford superior (3022 tower ave, superior, wi 54880, (715) 394-8669) stated that there were no recalls and referred the contact to the manufacturer. The manufacturer provided a case number and scheduled an appointment with the same dealer for diagnostic testing. The contact checked with an indedendent mechanic and was informed that the brake booster could be the cause of the failure. The failure mileage was 127,600.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 Ford f-150. While driving 50 MPH, the vehicle lost power and stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to restart on the first attempt. In addition, once the vehicle restarted, the speedometer failed to work and the wrench warning sensor illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 29,000.
cruise control 1 complaint shown
After driving in rain for a couple hours in my ecoboost f150, I was merging onto an interstate where traffic required heavy acceleration and the vehicle stalled from 60-65 abruptly to 45 MPH. The vehicle shuttered and would not accelerate back to highway speeds for nearly a minute. The engine ran extremely rough and was unresponsive to throttle input from driver. I had my family with me and was very upset that we could have been in a very bad accident. The dealership did not inform me of problems with the ecoboost at the time of sale, even though this problem has been going on since the ecoboost introduction. This is a serious safety issue and I find the NHTSA has failed to recall these trucks. The dealership where purchased is marler Ford, near alexandria, la. You are not to use m
