2014 Chevrolet Tahoe owner complaints

I am writing to you asking for assistance in replacement of my dashboard . I use the october date as we have noticed the cracks over the last couple months. One of the cracks is directly above where the passenger airbag is. I have discovered that there are 10000 members on a cracked dashboard site on facebook. I do not understand why gm does not stand behind this. I am concerned if the airbag deploys and someone is in the passenger seat they can be impaileded with hard pieces of plastic. I love my 2014 tahoe ltz and has planned on trading it in on a new tahoe or suburban. I am concerned that this will impact my resale value of the vehicle and im of the understanding that general motors will not stand behind this and fix it. The dashboard is cracked in three places within two weeks of each other. I was driving 35 MPH when I hit a bump in the road that caused the first crack to occur in the center. Then the other two happened just with no other pressure or driving hazards.

Vehicle was purchased new and has cracking on dashboard near airbag. Both front doors have lost all plastic in the door handle making it nearly impossible to grip door to close the doors, no form left to door handle. Both door and dash have been this way for 2 years and out of warranty so no one will fix the issues!

Consumer writes in regards to vehicle side blind zone alert system failure. *smd the consumer stated the side blind zone alert did not provide safety or security during inclement weather. The dashboard in my vehicle like many other peoples dashboard has cracked completely. I was told that this a huge problem with all 2014 Chevy tahoe's. I believe gm should fix this problem for me and all the others affected. This will cost me a substantial amount of money to be fixed and nothing was done other than me driving and parking my car. I read this could affect my airbags as well.

Crack in passenger side dashboard at the top left of the airbag panel. It started and has quickly cracked deeper and I am concerned this will affect the safety of my passenger if the vehicle was in an accident.

Two crack have formed in the dash surrounding the passenger side airbag. The vehicle was never involved in an accident or any other damage and the dash has never been removed.

While sitting at a stop sign on a roughly 40 degree day the dash of my vehicle cracked.

Takata Recall. The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V054000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue and informed the contact that they were not liable for any damages to the vehicle during recall repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

The low beam bulb on both sides of the vehicle keep going out. I have replaced each bulb at least 3 times. There is no moisture in the headlight and I don't see any electrical shorting on the harness. Malfunctioning headlights are a huge safety concern for my family and every other vehicle on the road. Also, my wife has gotten pulled over several times because of this. Almost every Chevy SUV and truck of the same year I see on the road have headlights out as well. Vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer. The headlights started failing about two years ago.

2014 Chevrolet tahoe police pursuit vehicle (ppv) issued new by highway patrol in 2q14. Vehicle presented with near complete stalling at idle in park, as well as idle in drive with brake applied - where engine intermittently has trouble stabilizing rpms between 0.7 and 0.6, and the gauge needle moves back and forth, sometimes erratically. Also lack of power or lag, several seconds hesitation upon rapid and non-rapid acceleration (making even gauging and pulling directly out into highway speed traffic unsafe), uncontrolled idle surge when idle stalling regained throttle (resulting in forward lunging). My tahoe has only 40,000 mi. When braking the vehicle shakes and shivers especially when braking at highway speeds. I replaced my tires even though they were only half worn to see if that was the problem but it didn't charge anything. #2 complaint is my rear doors fill with water when it rains. After looking up this problem on line,it appears that they are made to do that and I do think that should be that way!

While parked, the driver's female seat belt buckle end (part #19121538) frequently does not latch. It usually takes multiple attempts to latch. I visited a dealer on 11/5/20, to see what they would do. They contacted gm, who refused to make any remedy, stating it was out of warranty, even though this is a significant safety issue. Vehicle has never been in an accident and there are no visible signs of damage to the buckle end. It is progressively getting worse to latch. Also. The parking brake fails to properly secure the vehicle, even when pushed to the floor. Probably a poor design, even when adjusted properly.

It goes back and forth for no reason and have no answer why ABS traction control and stabilitrack light comes back and forth

P265/65R18 Michelin Tires: I bought the vehicle last Fall and it had these tires. I am not sure when they were purchased, but they seem to be in good condition with plenty of tread left. However, these tires are dangerous in winter conditions. They do not grip on snow and they are absolutely dangerous if there is any ice on the roads. I have driven in Minnesota and North Dakota since I got my driver's license and these tires are probably the most dangerous tires I've ever had. This morning (10/31/2023) we had just a little bit of frozen sleet on the roads from last night and it shouldn't have impacted my driving much, but going over 35mph caused slipping and loss of traction. Vehicle 4wd selector set to auto. Started vehicle. Vehicle 'service 4wd' warning light came on. Vehicle became stuck in 4wd mode. Vehicle difficult to steer or drive, and would not accelerate to normal road speed creating safety issue. Repeated shutdown and restarts of vehicle did not remedy problem. Had vehicle towed to dealer. Dealer service department said it was a known problem, and said they applied manufacturer software update that was issued. Dealer said that no official recall had been issued by manufacturer but a service bulletin and software patch had been issued. Vehicle returned.
