Bought this car new in 2014 for my daughter twice this year 2017 car has shook and stalled driving between 30 to 40 MPH and then restarts upon turning key very very scary situation I have taken to local Hyundai dealership where I had purchased was told no codes show on cars computer nothing can be done again this happened twice both on clear nice weather days while accelerating on local street and car shook and stalled both times with most dash board lites including check engine illuminating then when restarting car all lites are gone and car drove fine looked on line seems other people have same complaint regarding the Hyundai elantra

My engine has a hole in the block and the starter completely blew up. Noone can explain how this has happened. The car shop wants $12,000 to repair this. The car never leaked any oil until the day it blew up on me. No check engine light ever came on, no oil light ever came on.

My 2014 elantra has the exact same rod bearing problem noted in the recent Hyundai recall that affects the sonata, sante fe and voloscter. Yet it is not identified. I have a friend with a 2012 elantra that was also affected and she said hers is covered.

The engine started making a clicking sound, and was running rough. Then shook violently and turned off while I was on the freeway, Then getting very hot. It is defective and the dealer took it in under the t6g campaign but it was denied due to the salvage title for unrelated issues. Now it smokes if I drive it for an hour or two and takes a while to stop smoking afterwards. This car only has 120000 miles. They said it's a goodwill campaign but not a recall so they don't have to honor it. Now it runs for a few minutes but then smokes from the engine so I shut it off.

Hyundai has had numerous engine failures and fires, due to piston slap. Multiple lawsuits and recalls in other countries. Hyundai has a T6G service campaign to replace these engines and they even extended it to unlimited mileage for the first owner. The problem is that they will not honor this unless you are the first owner and you did all of your oil changes at the dealership. They have an 85% rejection rate for claims that have the eligible flaw... That is ridiculous. Why are they able to refuse to fix 85% of these engines that blow up and catch fire prematurely due to a known issue? Please recall these engines. Multiple times my engine has stopped leaving me with no power steering or brakes, one of which almost ended in a collusion on the highway. It took a lot of strength to push

The engine started making a ticking noise as early as 40k miles. It ran ok and I was lead to believe this was "normal" from the dealership. I maintained the vehicle as required until 88k while noticing more and more oil was being consumed. After slowing down and turning from a highway on to a county road, the automatic vehicle began to shift erratically and could not go faster than 40mph and then the engine turned off. I managed to get to the side of the road while this occurred. The engine started, but driving but the gears would not shift properly causing the engine to stall. In the dealership, the diagnosis was a new engine. I am the second owner and was told there was initially nothing could be done under warrantee with the mileage (while suggesting I must have went way too long bet

I was in an accident on 11/30/17 that had three impacts and not one airbag deployed. I had an accident in 10/2016 and it did not deploy either, but I figured maybe because it wasn't as violent of an accident. The november accident was hard and several people have indicated that they were shocked they did not deploy including a deputy, a couple of doctors, and two insurance representatives. My car was totaled so I do not own it anymore. I was driving about 45-50 MPH on a straight road and a person came from side street stop sign at me to clip the front passenger side, caused front driver side to hit a guardrail, and finally the car went head first into shallow ditch (hit rotten post and a lot of bushes). Driver door would not open all the way, a hole was in the driver front tire, the front

The piston rings do not seal leading to increased oil consumption and very low oil. My safety was put at risk because when I pulled out into traffic that was going at a high speed I could not accelerate. There was no warning or indication that this was going on prior to this incident. Yes this has been confirmed by a Hyundai dealership and the component was inspected. There was no warning sign before this incident.

I was out running errands and I was taking a break Midway through the day and I had the seat laid back and the car was off the key wasn't even turned forward and I just started to fall asleep when I started feeling something get really hot I opened my eyes and the car was full of thick black smoke so I swung the door open and with all the smoke went out my passenger seat was on fire on the bottom of the seat I burned my hand really bad in the process of trying to put it out which I have some lawyers working on getting me compensated for all this but it seems to have started in the seat heater all of the wires for the seat heater are all melted and you can clearly see how they started to catch the foam on fire I also googled it and there's been a few other cases of people's Hyundai's catchi

When driving at highway speeds in a straight line the steering sticks. As the car drifts in the lane it takes an extreme amount of pressure to move the steering wheel and then it over corrects. I have two elantras and they both have the same problem. I have been researching and see people have had this complaint since 2011.

The transmission range sensor on my car died after about 78000 miles and caused the car to lock up while on the highway. Stayed in 3rd gear and for a few weeks before would lock up while in park, neutral, reverse and drive (most commonly while in park). This nearly caused a couple of accidents. After doing some research this appears to be a common problem with elantras dating all the way back to 2007 and even has continued past my model year (2014) into 2015 models. The dealership even referred to it aso a faulty range sensor which to me seems to imply that they know about this issue. I couldn't shift and had a more difficult time slowing down and speeding up than usual. The part is relatively inexpensive but the diagnostic fee plus labor to remove and replace the faulty mechanical part wa
