Kia Motors America (Kia) is recalling certain 2011-2017 Optima, 2012-2017 Sorento and 2011-2018 Sportage vehicles that previously received an engine replacement under recall number 17V-224, warranty, or the Knock Sensor Detection System (KSDS) Product Improvement Campaign
A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.
Fix: Kia has notified owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the fuel pipe, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began January 17, 2019. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC172.

TSB: SPECIAL SERVICE INFORMATION & SPECIFICATIONS FOR GDI HIGH PRESSURE FUEL SYSTEM - This bulletin has been revised to include additional information. This bulletin provides information relating to all Kia vehicles equipped with Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engines. In these engines highly pressurized gasoline is injected via a common fuel rail and injectors that deliver fuel directly into the combustion chamber of each cylinder. In comparison, in a conventional Multi-Point Fuel Injection (MPI) engine, the gasoline is injected into the intake port of each cylinder at a relatively low pressure. Due to high fuel pressure in a GDI system, servicing the GDI system requires special attention
PITSTOP - INTERMITTENT LACK OF POWER OR HESITATION UPON ACCELERATION - RESTRICTED FUEL LINE - This bulletin has been revised to include additional information. Customers may experience an intermittent lack of power or hesitation upon acceleration. The malfunction indicator lamp may not illuminate or DTC P0087 may be stored (history). This is possibly due to a restricted low pressure fuel line.
TSB: FILL LEVEL LIMIT VALVE REPLACEMENT - This bulletin provides information related to the fill level limit valve (FLLV) replacement on some Sorento (XMa) vehicles, produced from December 17, 2012 to December 11, 2014, which may exhibit a Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) illuminated in the Electronic Control Module (ECM) with system-related DTC: P0455. To correct this concern, follow the procedure outlined in this bulletin. Replacement of fuel tank is not necessary.
TSB:V6 FUEL INJECTOR REPLACEMENT - This bulletin provides the procedure to replace all the fuel injectors on some 2014MY Sorento (XMa) vehicles, which may experience an intermittent rough idle on cold starts. When addressing the concern of a rough idle, which occurs only on the first start of the day and lasts for thirty (30) to forty-five (45) seconds, check for the possibility of poor injector performance in any cylinder. This concern may feel like a misfire, however, it is not an emissions or catalyst damaging misfire and typically does not trigger any DTC(s). To diagnose this concern, go to GDS ? Engine ? PITSTOP: HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP AND FUEL LINE COMPATIBILITY - When replacing the High Pressure Fuel Pump of some 2014MY Sorento (XMa) vehicles equipped with the 2.4L GDI engine and produced prior to July 26, 2013, refer to the table below to determine compatibility between the feed tube connector on the end of the fuel line and the High Pressure Fuel Pump, as installed on the vehicle.
