What stands out

Owners have filed 62 electrical complaints with NHTSA against this vehicle, but no formal recall covers the issue — the federal record reflects what manufacturers have admitted, not everything owners are reporting.

No new NHTSA electrical complaint has been filed on this vehicle in over 10 years — the issue may be aging out of the active population.

There is a 1 to 2 second lag when pressing the horn button and when the horn actually sounds. With the lag, it is nearly impossible to sound the horn immediately when someone is encroaching into your lane or any other time when the horn needs to be sounded to prevent an accident. *js

The ABS warning light, Traction Control warning light, and Emergency Brake light are all lite up on the dashboard of my 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport. ABS is not working on my Jeep. Mechanic shop checked for codes and said the ABS control module is bad and needs to be replaced. The shop qouted me $1,500.00 for parts and labor and that was if they could find a new ABS control module…

When pushing the horn button in the middle of steering wheel, nothing happens for about 1/2 to 1 second, then horn sounds. Very dangerous when trying to call attention to a possible accident about to happen.

Horn delay! When pressing the steering wheel there is a noticeable delay in the horn sounding. At times I have needed the horn to alert someone wandering into my lane and a quick 'hit' to the wheel did not sound the horn. No other vehicle I've owned operates like this. Please get a fix to us owners. My 2013 wrangler had the same issue. Still in 2015 it exits. Lots of internet chat about this…

Steering wheel electronics failure. Likely due to clock spring.

Common questions

How serious is the electrical problem on the 2015 Jeep Wrangler?

It's a meaningful issue. 62 complaints have been filed and the failure mode causes operational problems for owners. Repairs average $850.

At what mileage does the electrical typically fail?

Across the 33 complaints that reported odometer mileage, most electrical failures cluster between 9,500 and 45,000 miles, with the median around 31,000. A quarter of owners report trouble before 9,500; a quarter make it past 45,000. Maintenance history matters more than the odometer alone — this is the reported failure window, not a guarantee.

What does it cost to fix?

Independent shops typically charge around $850 for electrical repairs on this vehicle. Dealer pricing tends to run 20-40% higher. The exact figure depends on the specific failure mode, parts availability, and your local labor rates. If you're outside factory warranty, an extended service contract often covers this category.

Are there any recalls related to electrical?

No active recalls currently cover electrical issues on this vehicle. The complaints filed represent owner-reported failures that haven't risen to the level of a manufacturer-issued recall — but they're still worth knowing about before you buy or budget for repairs.
