While driving about 60 miles an hour, in the second from the left lane on a busy, four-lane freeway ascending a slight hill, my car shuddered violently and came to a complete stop. We were almost rear-ended several times; cars were swerving around us; it was terrifying and quite dangerous. We waited close to 10 minutes for the chp to stop traffic. Subaru has identified the problem as the CVT transmission and is in the process of replacing it under the warranty. This is a safety issue and I think a recall is more appropriate than an extended warranty.

The dealer diagnosed that the transmission's wiring harness may have been affected, but the cause of the failure could not be fully determined. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 30,520. The VIN was not available.
While driving downhill on the interstate, the accelerator suddenly was unresponsive, almost as if the car were in neutral. Once pulling over and restarting the car it drove normally. Took the car in for service and the dealer could not replicate the issue and there were no error codes. A CVT defect is causing erratic, uncontrollable, and violent changes in engine RPM, including but not limited to: rapid violent oscillations in RPM, non-shifting, sustained holding of RPM near engine red-line, abrupt decreases of RPM and subsequent loss of power despite the accelerator is still being applied. These defects have occurred under an array of driving conditions, speeds, throttle positions, road gradients, ambient temperatures, altitudes, and engine temperatures. Subaru was provided with videos of the dashboard gauges taken during malfunctions, and the vehicle was returned to them to have the issues assessed at least 3 times. Subaru completed TCM "re-flashing", ECM updates, and software updates to address the problems with no effect. CVT malfunctions have gradually increased in

Moon roof exploded. Like a gun shot going off. Glass cascaded down on me and my wife. Almost killed.
Often times the key gets stuck in the ignition and you have to wiggle the shifter a few times to release it.
Driving the 2015 Subaru Impreza the front hood popped open and crashed into my windshield. Luckily it popped at 30-40 miles per hour and I was able to stop safely. Many damage to the body of the vehicle. It has happened a couple times before (found the hood open) but the safety hook was holding the hood closed. Called the Subaru dealer at San Bernardino and they said that is not a recall for this issue and I asked to talk with a representative and they said someone will call me. After 3 days of waiting to be contacted, I called the insurance to fix the car.
About 50% of time when I attempt to shut down the ignition and remove the key the key won't turn all the way to "off". I can't remove the key an must turn it back to the "run" position and try to get the key to turn to the "off" position. The vehicle is in the stationary position with the transmission lever in "park". I follow the operator's manual instruction to push in the key when turning it to "off"; I've also tried not pushing the key in when trying to turn it to the "off" position to no avail. My Subaru dealer service manager said that this problem is not known to him. Cause unknown.

Steering wheel peeling started at 68,000 and getting worse
I was driving as I normally do and parked my car. When I go to start it again the power steering light on my dash board lights up and I can't move my steering wheel at all. Since I was unable to drive my car I had to get it towed to my mechanic where I was told that the steering shaft and motor where bad. In doing some research I found out that Subaru had this issues in since 2013 models.
After turning the steering significantly to the right (full lock is not necessary), the car then *often* pulls significantly to the left. The same thing *sometimes* happens after a left turn. And, the 'floaty' steering is a loss of on-center feel and the steering generally feels like I'm driving a 1970s era big-old-Buick... Absolutely no road feel or feedback. My mechanic diagnosed this problem as a defective steering rack -- a $2000 repair. They also said that this was the second time they had seen this problem in a 2015 Subaru impreza within a month! Indicating that this is a larger, systemic problem with the design or production of the 2015 impreza! The dealer has confirmed that the steering rack is defective and discounted the repair by $1500. This is an excellent good-will ge

Passenger air bag will randomly turn off with passenger riding. This is well know issue with subaru and they still have not sent a recall. With this issue being so wide spread I do not think the dealership should charge over 600 dollars for this repair. I previous did this repair and the same part failed within a year and half.
Takata recall, air bags did not deploy on a impact of 50 miles a hour.

Subaru eyesight will lock up brakes when actively being engaged and the car in front of you makes 90 degree right turn as if the car was still in front of you and you were about to crash into it. But it isn't there instead you will be crashed into from the rear. It will do this every time guaranteed. Just set following distance to 1.1 sec get behind a car doing over 25 MPH and enjoy. Dealership insists that how it suppose to work. If this was Subaru's intend in any way it needs to be corrected. Hitting gas pedal won't help it will only rev up the engine but car keeps braking.
It happen to me november 7th and almost happened to my husband .I was pulling in a parking spot at our local cvs drug store.zthenmy shoe got caught between the brake and gas pedal. I believe it is a defect.I smashed in to a iron gate and to brick fence support.this is the second accident I have had like this.and my husband almost happened to him.my from end pretty toe up.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 Subaru impreza. The contact stated that after shifting into park, the contact was unable to remove the key from the ignition switch. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer grand prix Subaru located at 500 s broadway, hicksville, ny 11801, to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the ignition switch was defective and needed to be replaced. The ignition switch was replaced however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 27,000.
The passenger air bag sensor fails to properly identify a human in the passenger seat. More than half the time someone is sitting in the front passenger seat, the passenger air bag is not activated. This happens both when the vehicle is in motion, stationary, and on in street types or street conditions. The air bag also frequently activates when no one is sitting in the seat. The passenger air bag sensor is dangerously badly designed. It uses a capacitance sensor to determine if an object with a similar capacitance to a human is in the seat. However, the capacitance of a human changes dramatically depending on the composition of that person's body, the clothes that person is wearing, if they are holding an electronic device, or touching some part of the vehicle that would ground them.
