My van will sporadically lose power and stall while driving down the road. I have to put in back in park to restart the van to continue on down the road. It's been scary driving with my 3 kids in the van. I'm afraid the stalling out is going to cause me to get into a collision. I had it in a shop recently and they told me that it was related to a recall S44 or 16V461000, but they didn't have a tech who could do the repair to the transmission. But another shop says that my van doesn't have any recalls even though my van falls within all the parameters of the known safety recall.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that upon placing the transmission into reverse, the vehicle would not reverse as needed and that an unknown fluid began to leak from the vehicle. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic where he was informed the vehicle needed a new transmission. The mechanic replaced the transmission with a new transmission from an unnamed local Chrysler dealer. Upon return of the vehicle, the contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH, the vehicle independently downshifted which caused the vehicle to abruptly jerk forward without warning. The contact immediately pulled to the side of the road and began to hear an engine knock upon restarting the vehicle. The contact coasted the vehicle int

Owner was driving car and noticed high pitch whir at low speed upon entering the highway, had the radio been on then this noise would not have been noticed. Driver was able to exit the highway. Upon reaching a stoplight the vehicle revved up to 60mph then down to zero. When barely compressing the gas this occurred again. Owner quickly turned off and on vehicle hoping to reset whatever was happening. Upon restarting and barely pressing gas the vehicle lurched forward with high rpm. Driver was in high traffic area at height of rush hour, but was able to cross 4 lanes of traffic to a side street. Car was towed to dealership where it was confirmed that the transmission pump had failed and metal shards had gone through the transmission causing full replacement to be needed. The transmission pump failed suddenly, resulting in severe slippage in the transmission and loss of motive power for the vehicle. The vehicle struggled to stay up to road speeds on the highway until I could get it parked in a safe place to get my family out of the vehicle. Later on that day, I tried to take the vehicle around the block, to which it barely would make it back to it's starting point it was slipping so badly. A local Chrysler dealer has diagnosed the transmission is bad specifically citing a bad pump in the transmission. There were no warning lamps or indicators alerting us to this problem, just the sudden failure of the transmission putting me and my family in an unsafe situation. This vehicle meets all the criteria of a Chrysler Town and Country listed on Recall 16v-

On december 24, 2020 our right passenger side rear door malfunctioned and ended up trapping my toddlers head in between the door and vehicle frame. It was incredibly traumatic for all involved. Though the incident likely lasted less than a minute, it was a terrifying frantic minute in which I tried everything to get the door open as it continued to try and close on our baby who was screaming in pain and terror. It took all of my strength to manually pry open the door to release his head. We brought the vehicle to our local dealership to be looked over, assuming a malfunctioning sensor of some sort. They did diagnostics and reported no codes were evident and they could not replicate the malfunction. Then last night 12/30/2020 the left rear passenger door experienced a similar malfunct

Back sliding door inoperable, dealership sold the vehicle this way, neglected to disclose the issue. When we noticed we refused the sale, dealership added to the sale contract that it would be fixed before delivery, vehicle was not fixed before delivery after several attempts, and a third party off site company attempted to fix the issue. Dealership had the vehicle for 36 days before coming to a temporary fix, door still has issues opening and closing. Sometimes won’t open at all or just close instantly after opening pinching/crushing anyone who isn’t fast enough to get out of the way in the door. Door has also come completely off the track at one point. The door will not stop if it starts to close, it will slide closed into you or a child, the censors do not work as designed apparent

The lock actuator gear strips, causing a loud buzzing noise when locking/unlocking the vehicle and in some cases it will not consistently actuate causing the door to stay locked. The major concerns are 1) if there is an emergency situation and someone is unable to unlock the door to quickly get my child out of the vehicle because the lock is not functional. 2) the noise it makes is loud and may startle drivers of this vehicle(from what I'm seeing, this is a common issue across the town and country and caravan lines of vans) as the locks automatically engage while entering the road which could cause a temporary loss of control of the vehicle. This endangers both the driver of the vehicle and other people on the road.

The contact owns a 2016 Chrysler Town and Country. The contact stated that the rear passenger’s and driver’s side sliding doors failed to remotely latch properly. The contact had to manually slam the rear sliding doors for the doors to latch securely. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who informed the contact that the vehicle was covered under Technical Service Bulletin: 23-001-25 (Sliding Door Lock(s) Inoperable Warranty Extension X98); however, the contact needed to pay for the door panels, which might crack during the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 117,000.

car would turn off randomly while driving; this primarily happened at red lights. After a moment was able to turn car back on and continue driving. Took car to mechanic and had something replaced; however, this issue continued. Took car to dealership and they confirmed that they could find nothing wrong with the car. Dealership that provided follow-up call that there was a potential fix to have PCN (?) chip updated and that this was a known issue. It does not seem safe to have a car randomly turning off while driving; especially in a large mini van which is most commonly used by families with young children. The dealership made me pay $300 to pay for the safety fix despite it being a known issue and a safety issue. When the car would turn off this was at 0 mph but it occured coming from al

Misfire and rough idle at all temperatures and speeds. Diagnosed with a faulty head with low compression on cylinder 2 at independent shop. More than 20% difference in PSI compression test with a leakdown loss of nearly 80%, pulled valve cover shows a rolled cam. Dealership has vehicle for repair under extended warranty but will not perform leakdown test or pull the valve cover to submit for repair. They have stated that it is rough to run and likely unsafe to drive, and yet insist there is nothing they can do, as this is just "how chryslers are". Prior to diagnosis, full tune up performed and spark/fuel was checked.

Driver side sliding door cannot be opened either remotely or manually, Something is non-functional inside the door. In order to exit the vehicle, people must climb over to the front seat or across the vehicle to the passenger side sliding door. If this were to happen on the passenger side, the only way out is through the front doors. This must be a design issue as the vehicle has NOT been in any accident--people in the rear seats are at risk if they need to exit quickly. Previously told by a mechanic shop, this was an actuator problem. Chrysler has now extended the warranty on the actuator, but now they say it is a latch issue not covered by the extended warranty, and want $1100 to repair it. Latch, actuator, or whatever reason, no vehicle door should ever get into this type of mode. I hav
