2016 Nissan Sentra owner complaints

The problem with the car is that after a stop sign, the car no longer moved forward, it stayed in the road, this was blocking traffic and it was dangerous to get out of the car, the tow truck arrived to move it from the road, several mechanics examined it and said that the transmission was damaged, the car has only traveled 78,140 miles.

When driving on the interstate above 45 miles per hour, the car jerks and does not want to go. The car almost did not make it thru the intersection with another vehicle coming on more than one occasion. Car finally stopped and had to be towed. Informed that a new transmission was needed.

While in motion the car jerks and slips gears while driving it has loss of power when accelerating I feel unsafe while driving my car.

When on the freeway, once vehicle has reached 50-70 MPH, the rpms jump up and down. Super dangerous as I am then unable to maintain control of vehicle and have to cut through traffic to a shoulder. Also on take off and stopping at red lights, car shudders and feels like it is going to stall. I know there is a class action lawsuit out there as many drivers are having this issue but I should not have to pay $5 in transmission repair on a car that have 60k miles just to wait for reimbursement. Nissan needs to step up and handle this as a recall.

The vehicle was taken to Nissan south morrow (located at 6889 jonesboro road, morrow, ga 30260) where it was diagnosed that there was internal damage to the continuously variable transmission. The vehicle was repaired by aamco. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

The dealer mcdonough Nissan (1775 avalon parkway, mcdonough, ga 30253, (770) 282-5077) stated that the extended warranty was active up to 84,000 for issue that was diagnosed with the transmission. A diagnostic test was performed and confirmed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The manufacturer confirmed that the warranty was good up to 84,000 miles. Additionally, the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer stated that a letter was mailed to extend the warranty coverage for the transmission however, the contact had not received the letter.

My 2016 Nissan Sentra malfunctioned while driving on the Highway three separate times. The car suddenly lost its ability to accelerate and seemed to power down while becoming more difficult to steer. It seemed to start shuddering and I thought it may have been a front end flat tire. After pulling off the road and putting the car in park, when I waited a minute or two, I placed the car in drive and there was no problem until a month later and it hppended again except on an interstate while driving over a long bridge. Two different Nissan dealers could not diagnose any issues and kind of threw up theirs hands with no suggestions except to bring it in again if it happens once more. The auto has become hazardous to drive for two seniors, and no one seems to be able to diagnose or fix the issue

The transmission needs to be replaced at almost 114k on a 3 year old vehicle. Was told it cant be fixed or sealed because of the CVT technology that prevents repairs. Costs about $4k to replace the transmission. Why can't the transmission be repaired? Why isn't the 120k powertrain coverage automatic if you stand behind your product and brand?

This 2016 Nissan Sentra has parasitic battery draining. There is a great safety issue in not having a ready vehicle for emergency situations. I am also not confident the vehicle will start when away from home. The highest grade AGM battery was purchased to replaced the original battery to no avail. The vehicle requires continuous jump starts. Alternator appears to be functioning according to testing.

The push button start is very unreliable I have had to have aaa twice for starting problems and towed twice to the Nissan service garqage I thik this is a serious saftey issue I am not comfortable going anyplace and knowing that it may not start after parked it has this problem in parking lots and home garage I am 82 years old and all I wanted was a small dependable care this is not

Car feels like the engine starts and stops continuously and very fast when on highway going 60-75 MPH, and happens more often with cruise control on. The speedometer bounces around like crazy from zero to bouncing pass my speed I'm driving at. This has been going on since I bought the car to currently. I pull over and let it rest, I didn't see complaints in past about this from others until now, so I thought I now must report as well. I didn't know if it was engine, speedometer, fuel related, gas pedal or what, but now realizing it's engine issues due to a recall notice I got in the mail and a civil lawsuit action is currently in the process.

On my radio, it also has GPS & backup camera at least once a week it turns off while I am driving then a few minutes later it turns back on and the radio goes full blast. I am assuming this is an electrical issue. It did it again 12/13/18. I am worried that the electrical for the whole car is going to shut off.

My 2016 Nissan sentra has always skipped some, acted like it didn't want to go, but the other day, when I pressed the gas, it wouldn't go. This was as I was riding down the road. At times, the gas pedal would accelerate some, but then the car would start jerking. To make it home, I had to accelerate, coast, try the gas pedal again, and coast some more. No engine, or warning lights ever came up on the dash.

Timing and electrical, throttle clutch control problems. Transmission related issues.

On 12\07\2017 the car was hit so hard it total the car out. It was in the front an the air bags did not come out. Me and a friend was in the car we both hurt but do not have insurance. The car has not been owned over a year. The insurance company has not replied to if they are going to pay the 27,000. I am at a lost for words. No car for work have to turn the rental in on the 27 of this month. Thank you sad an confused. By the way the car was in drive but at a stand still.

Drivers air bag popped when the door was slammed stationary,, the steering wheel and dash airbags popped while car was in motion moving appx 35 m p h, on rural road.

Problem has occurred since I purchased car in 10/2016 til present. It is intermittent. When initiating a right turn from stationary 0 speed and while on the gas pedal, the car does not move. When making a left turn in front of oncoming traffic at least 100 feet away, the car does not move while the pedal is to the floor. I cannot initiate turns safely if any cars are in my view. I am taking to dealer for exam, but I believe problem is with CVT transmission.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Brake Light Switch How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Per multiple reports this could cause the car not to start or to indicate to cars that the vehicle is slowing down and preparing to stop Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Back in 2019 I was having this issue and in 2020 took it to a Nissan dealership to have it looked into and repaired (Unknowingly that there was a recall for this specific issue) Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? After experiencing this years ago I knew what steps needed to be taken
