On my 2016 Toyota tundra 1794 edition, with headlights in "auto" position, when I use turn signal, the headlights, taillights and dash lights all occasionally turn off. Once turn signal shuts off, lights come back on . It typically happens at night when it's cold out. It has now happened probably half a dozen times in the last six months. While problem is intermittent, it's very scary, as I'm driving blind on a rural road until the light come back on. On the tundras.com owners website, this appears to be a common issue. Help! Before someone gets hurt.

My headlights shut off when using my turn signal
My 2016 Toyota tundra 1794 crewmax, during winter months in midwest - the headlights and and internal instrumentation will turn off when turning left or right with turn signal engaged. The automatic lights are engaged on column stalk and the issue occurs at night. The vehicle is in motion
I have a serious safety concern regarding the lack of daytime vehicle instrument illumination on my new 2016 Toyota tundra (while driving, stationary and on all roads) during the day. As an elder adult who wears sunglasses to protect their eyes (on the recommendation of the medical profession) the dash board (specifically the speedometer indicator) is barely discernible. Even without sunglasses the instrument panel is very dark. I am sure there are thousands of others who would like to see the instruments and operate their vehicles in a safe and lawful manner during the daytime or with sunglasses on. I am sure the decision, by Toyota, to not illuminate the dash in the daytime saves a few pennies and adds up for the manufacturer when you sell thousands of vehicles? But. . . Not being ab
All lights (headlamps and tail lamps and instrument panel) turn off when using turn signal. This typically happens when changing lanes at highway speed. I am not the only one experiencing this problem. Seems to occur in 2015-2017 Toyota tundras (1794 & platinum editions). See thread. Bought new 2016 tundra limited 11/16/2015 and noticed that dash lights do not come on during daylight hours unless parking lights or headlights are on. In the off/drl position or the auto position no dash lights. When I called Toyota help line I was told that this change was made because if the driver can see the outline of the numbers on the gauges they do not need to be illuminated. He could not offer any reason for changing this standard feature. Other than not seeing the gauges sharper and clearer one safety defect is present. The tundra has gauges instead of warning lights for engine operations and they are smaller than the speedometer/tachometer . The temp gauge is located on the lower left of the dash and cannot be seen clearly without the dash illuminated because that corner is dar
If the headlights are set to auto and I signal a left turn and turn to the left, the headlights shut off and the interior lights switch to "day mode". The issue seems intermittent. It seems to occur in cooler temps (<50f).
When engaging turn signal, all lights extinguish momenatarily. This is an intermitten and happens at random, but not constant. The first time I noticed was early morning before sun rise I was in a turning lane at a red light stopped, engaged left turn signal and all lights went dark. The next time I was attempting to merge and engaged turn signal in traffic all lights went dark. I searched the internet forums to find this is a common occurence with tundra platinum and 1794 models. My vehicle has no modifications and all lighting is factory installed.

The drivetrain on my 2016 Toyota tundra are not allowing the wheels to rotate freely. Additionally, the wheels are locking up on the truck. On 6 dec, I picked up my tundra from the dealership's service depart after having the rear differential repaired. The vehicle started to drive sluggish. As I neared my home, I tried to test the 2wd and 4wd functions of the vehicle. I attempted to test the repair that was done. The wheels on the vehicle started to have problems rotating freely and locking up. While in 4wd the vehicle would not move. It appeared as if the breaks were locked on the vehicle. Four days later, the vehicle still drives sluggish. While driving at speeds of 45mph, I would take my foot off the accelerator and the vehicle would almost come to a complete stop on its own
While driving back from florida on 30 nov, I heard a humming noise coming from the rear of my Toyota tundra. On 2 dec 2015, the dealership did service on the truck to address the noise. The dealership replaced the rear differential assembly and did something to the lsd. I picked the vehicle up on 6 december 2015, the rear wheels started locking up and made it difficult to drive the vehicle. I let the vehicle set over the weekend. On 7 dec 2015, I attempted to drive the vehicle again, the wheels were still locking up and the vehicle had a burning smell. I have an appoint to return the vehicle on 9 dec 2015.

Real sample the brake controller doesn't work no matter if you set it up to 9.5 or 10 doesn't do any brake applied.
Integrated trailer brake controller not functioning correctly. In electric mode, no power setting (1-10) is able to get the trailer brakes to lock up when the truck brakes are applied. This is a crucial test to calibrate the trailer brakes before going on the road, and demonstrates that the output signal from the brake controller isn't sufficient to stop the truck/trailer combo in an emergency situation. The trailer brakes are able to lock up with certain settings if you manually activate the trigger, demonstrating that the controller not only has the ability to lock up the brakes, but that the trailer itself isnt the problem. The programming of the controller is suspect.

steering 1 complaint shown
The power steering went out during routine around-town driving. One moment it was steering fine, the next moment it became extremely difficult and sluggish. There were no warning lights or warning of any sort until the steering wheel started jerking unevenly as I tried to turn. I was able to get control of the vehicle and pull it to the side of the road. There was no difference in the engine noise, and I couldn't see any noticeable fluid leak. I was able to drive the vehicle home, make an appointment with the Toyota dealer, and get the vehicle to the dealership for inspection. The dealership told me after inspection, that the rack and pinion steering was binding internally, and that there was seepage from the right boot. Initially, they told me that the pump should be fine. I authorized

I purchased Toyota tundra on 6 nov 2015. Since owning the vehicle I have been getting 460 miles to a full tank of gas (38 gallon tank). Those numbers equate to 12mpg in fuel economy estimates. I picked the vehicle up on 6 nov2015. The truck had a full tank of gas. The fuel efficiency read 570 mile for a full tank of gas. On 13 nov I drove the vehicle to florida. Every time I filed up the truck with fuel the fuel efficiency reading started to decline. On the first three full tank of gas, the reading was 540 and 520 miles for a full tank of gas on 15 november. I took the vehicle to the dealership on or about 17 nov. The service department plugged the vehicle up to a computer. The computer sent out a report that showed that the vehicle was getting 18 MPG. engine 1 complaint shown
Problem Parts?? At around 70,000 miles I was told that there was an engine oil leak ... camshaft area... and the engine needs to pulled out with a repair cost of about $5,000 dollars. (Reseal both cam towers, replace gaskets, etc.) A bit ridiculous. Is there now a possible engine fire risk? At 70,000 miles there was obviously a manufacturing mistake or a defective part used during assembly.
