Rear door latch failures in both left and right sides when there are freezing temperatures. Three separate incidents: 12/23/2019 - rear left door latch failure... the door opened, but would not latch when closed. Took to Ford dealership where they applied the 18N03 door latch safety recall service, adding seals, grease, and a clip. 12/28/2019 - just one week after the 18N03 safety recall service, both left and right door latches failed again, where the doors would open but would not latch shut (have recording on iPhone). Temperatures were 33F. Returned to Ford dealership and they replaced both latches under a third-party warranty. 12/21/2021 - both rear left door again would not latch shut in freezing temperatures. Able to latch shut after removing rubber seal from door and blowin

Tl* the contact owns a 2017 Ford f-150. The contact stated that the front doors failed to remain closed. The contact stated that bickford Ford (3100 bickford ave, snohomish, wa 98290, (425) 334-4045) repaired the door latches. The contact stated the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 21,000.
Oil pan is leaking and was told that it was a common problem happening. I believe this is unsafe that can leave my family on the side of the road. Yes the problem was confirmed by the dealership service department and was told it has been a problem. There was no warning lamps before this problem. I know that the repair will be $1,100 which I will pay for that on Friday when I pick up the truck.
Driver and passenger front door’s locking mechanism would not latch in freezing temperatures. Doors would not latch and caused a safety issue. This has not been reviewed by dealership.
The driver’s side door will not latch once it is opened when the ambient temperature is below 25 Fahrenheit. The door has come open while driving, requiring the driver to hold it shut while finding a safe pull off. It has come unlatched and swung open around corners, even though it was locked.
Cam phasers make engine rattle at startup and idle. A recall has been put out but the dealer did not get the issue fix and sold it anyway. Also rear sensors don't work right.

Arrived at work on 12-23-19 at 8 am (walgreens parking lot). Shut my front driver door and the rear window of my f-150 pickup shattered.
Driver and passenger front doors will not latch all the time. Has been to the dealership twice. First time they did a temporary fix. The 2nd time on december 29, 2017 it was looked at a 2nd time and a 'permanent fix' was applied to the door latches. After picking the truck up it is still not fixed. Ford is putting out faulty permanent fixes. The truck was parked when I noticed the problem was not fixed. The passenger door took 15 tried to latch closed. Drivers door takes 3-5 tries to rt to close.
I've added all 4 doors not latch closed at different times. I also had my front driver's door pop open while driving, this happens when the temperature is cold and freezing. I've spoken with two different Ford dealers and they both said they haven ne er heard of this problem. I have spoken with people who own the same vehicle and they say it's common and Ford really doesn't have a fix or if something is done it's shot term and starts happening again. I feel this is a very dangerous situation.
The door latches become inoperative in below freezing weather and require the inside of the cabin to be heated for approximately 30 minutes before they will work. I have had both fsa's completed by a Ford dealer for this problem, but the problem still exists. This issue presents a safety problem because the doors will not latch closed and could swing open during driving.
Door latches freezing causing doors to open while driving. While driving in cold temperatures the door latches don't work. I was driving several times and when you go around a corner or turn the vehicle left or right the doors swing open. Ford has installed weather seals but they said that the fix is not working as I have proven I was told there is nothing more they can do at this time and will have to deal with it

Bought truck drove 40 miles home starting making ticking noise. Called dealer said common problem took to dealership coundnt fine problem. Tonight the motor blew up. Dealership not answering phone calls. Truck only has 30000 miles on it. Don't know what to do . Technican said he thought it was the cam phasers but they didn't fix it
Truck downshifts periodically from 3rd to 2nd gear or from 4 to 3 of 4th to 2nd, for no reason, while keeping speed same on flat road. This causes tire squealing action in some cases and is unsafe. Also, at the same time, rear motion sensor system failure light comes on with an OK button. I select the button and then a wrench sign lights up indicating service requires. Sometimes also a check engine light comes on. Sometimes also the display showing what gear truck is in goes blank, or flutters through all gears. Sometimes a fan/generator comes on as well for no apparent reason. Sometimes the truck is goes in to no gear at all (neutral?) while I am moving. I pull over, restart the engine and the problems usually go away. This problem was reported to 2 Ford dealers (Cella and Bergey)

The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, there was a rattling sound coming from the engine compartment and the check engine warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed a vapor blockage was present in the engine and all the four VCT units needed to be replaced. The VCT units were replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. Additionally, while driving at various speeds, there was a whistling sound underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the transmission separator plate was faulty due to corrosion buildup and was pushing against the torque converter. The transmission separator plate was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of

My 2017 F150 is 7 years old with 80K mileage. Engine problem: Cold start ticking/tapping/rattle noise. Ford claimed it sent a letter in 2021 but I never received. Googled and found there are large amount of the same complaints on 2017-2020 F150 with 3.5L EcoBoost engine. The Cam Phaser / VCT Units will fail. Vehicles may not restart after auto-start-stop. Ford issued Customer Satisfaction Program 21N03 and Technical Service Bulletin TSB23-2143. Those measures are not enough. Ford should recall all 2017-2020 F150 with 3.5L Ecoboost built before Nov 30, 2019. Lug nuts at wheels: Ford used cheap two-piece nuts. All the nuts were swollen in Dec 2024 and could not be removed by myself. I had to drive my F150 to Quick Lane and paid $140 to get all the nuts replaced with one-piece nuts. A
Dec. 29, 2022: I was advised that the lug nuts are warped and the tires could not be rotated without replacing the lug nuts. Was advised if I did not replace them, I may not be able to remove them if I had a flat tire or worse, they might not get tightened properly causing a wheel to come off while driving. Vehicle is still at Ford Dealership service dept.

Tl* the contact owns a 2017 Ford f-150. The contact stated that the instrument cluster failed to illuminate and would not display the transmission gear shifter position. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 31,500.
Doing cold weather, the driver side door locks has frozen on several occasions causing the latch to become inoperable to latch. As a result, I am unable to lock the door after closing it and the door swings open before moving the vehicle. I have not been able to schedule an appointment at this time. The vehicle was purchased used from Carmax in Brandywine, Md., on March 22, 2022. I was informed that the vehicle had passed a full inspection prior to the sale. There were no warning lights or recall notices issued regarding the vehicle.

There has been a continuous oil leak from the oil pan since the vehicle was first purchased from the dealer. The manufacturer is aware of this issue and has issued a TSB for all vehicles from the Kansas and Detroit plants that are affected by a defective oil pan. The manufacturer is refusing to issue a recall despite the issue being wide spread and the dealership reporting that if left unfixed, the issue could result in loss of steering and could cause a serious accident. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership and instructions were given to contact the customer support center for the manufacturer. The manufacturer admitted to knowing about the defect and still refuses to issue a recall.

I started my truck at 7:45 AM; temperature was 25 degrees and the windows were covered in frost. I turned the heater on, got out to load my truck; as I opened the door I heard a loud pop and a slight electrical odor. On examining the cause, I realized that the rear cab window had shattered with no provocation. Glass shards everywhere in the cab and in the truck bed. My dogs in the backseat, or I in the front could have been impaled with any one of these shards.
