After a sever rainstorm and ice storm a code that causes BCM (Body Control Module) fault code to show up. It affected systems such as Intermittent lock or unlock trunk and door while vehicle is in operation, Failure to start and Security alarm active at random times. An independent service found the "B12D1" code that indicated the BCM has failed during the prescribed process by the manufacture. The problem was reproduced during an ice storm in 2019 and 2022 causing this error code while vehicle is exposed to weather.

Wiring harness was "damaged by rodents" twice due to the swap to soy-based, edible wiring. No other vehicles have this issue in my area and I have lived here 5 years. This damage causes all electrical systems to fail, including power steering, and will eventually result in a fatality - if it has not already. Honda will not cover this under warranty and has done nothing to resolve the issue! The alleged "spicy tape fix" does not deter rodents.
Rodents chewing through electrical wiring in the engine compartment. Honda using soy based wiring jacketing that attracts the rodents to chew up the wiring in the engine compartment.
The back wiper remained in fast speed until shutting off vehicle. Twice. Second time length of approx 5 minutes. Then operated normally. 12/09/19 2nd. Radio has been changing stations on it's own. And the the phone has been asking me to set up with blue tooth when I am driving. I have shut off the radio and it seems to re-set itself. This has been going on for about month. 11/09/19

Vehicle is 2 years old and we are dealing with a persistent, non-functioning ac system that seems to be a known problem in these Honda civics. Honda corporate refuses to do anything about the problem, leaving the consumer with a $2500 repair bill, that may or may not be a long term fix, on a new car. We live in fl and not having temperature control is dangerous.
Fuel injectors failing before 65,000 miles, causing cylinder 1, 2, and 3 misfires consistently. This problem is known by Honda, but was never recalled. This is on all of the 1.5L engine models sold after 2016. They have even created a new part with the necessary flex joints to correct the issue, but charge out of pocket for inevitable and completely unavoidable replacement. This is nearly a $1400 repair from an OEM part that is guaranteed to fail around 60-70k miles. Multiple cylinder misfires have cause complete loss of throttle power and acceleration while driving on multiple occasions, and should provide cause for concern as an inoperable vehicle due to manufacturer quality failure is completely unsafe and should not be pinned on the owner of the vehicle. I have been left with no choice
Fuel injectors failed twice and part is on back order
The contact owns a 2017 Honda Civic. The contact stated that after she started the vehicle, the gear shifter failed to shift into neutral. The contact stated that the parking brake warning light was illuminated; however, the parking brake was not engaged. The contact then stated that the steering wheel seized. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the parking brake needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure and stated that the failure could be two separate switches related to the parking brake. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

Steering is sticky and jerky Dangerous at high speeds bc it’s difficult to keep the car in the lane because of significant jerking
When driving straight on a highway, probably 40+ mph, the steering wheel does not respond to small left or right adjustments to maintain a straight line. It feels like the steering wheel is sticky, and takes extra effort to break through the "stickiness." This results in an overcorrection when the steering system finally does respond. This can cause the vehicle to veer slightly into another lane or off the road. I imagine that other drivers may feel I am driving under the influence as the car weaves. The car is available for inspection, however, I have not had the vehicle into service to confirm the issue, nor has the car been inspected by any other party. No warning signs or other symptoms are present.
The steering on my vehicle has spots where it sticks and I have to use more force to continue. I took it to my local dealer and was told the rack and pinion assembly needed to be replaced. I was also told the part I needed was out of stock and they did not know when it would be back in stock. They said they would order the part when it became available and I have heard nothing from them. My car has 41,000 miles on it. I researched and found a recall on this issue but was told it did not apply to my car. I contacted Honda and was told they would not cover it due to the year on my car even with the low mileage. The car is not safe to drive. The longer you drive it the more it sticks .
Steering wheel gets sticky with slight turns; car drifts while driving highway speeds and the sticky steering causes over correction which causes vehicle to move all over the road. Research done on this shows that this is a known issue with Honda Civics and the fix is to replace the steering rack. Local dealership confirmed this.

2017 Honda Civic paint falling off in large chunks.
Trunk will open seemingly at random. Occurs while driving, parked, turned off, etc. Widespread problem as it has been reported on multiple car forums, all with the same response from dealers; can’t reproduce issue or they don’t know what’s wrong.
The paint around the rear windshield is peeling off our 2017 Honda civic. It started on the right side of the windshield and now the left side has started peeling pretty quick. There's one spot where the paint is cracked and some rust can be seen around the edge. There has been no damage to the vehicle and stays inside the garage when we are at home.
Paint and finish bubbling and peeling on hood, roof, some on trunk. In the worst spots paint is worn away down to the metal, creating rusting hazard. On hood, peeled paint can blow onto the windshield, interfering with vision and distracting the driver. Vehicle has been inspected by a USAA insurance adjuster and by Rudolf Body and Paint in El Paso, TX.

Recently moved in person to an original over 55 community has an after market exhust system that is very load and the person also drives up and down the street like a race driver
Cold start up issue where VTC Actuator is rattling and or grinding. This could potentially cause engine failure while starting or driving the vehicle. No check engine light or oil light. VTC Rattle/Grind occurred for 3-4 seconds and then stopped.
My vehicle has oil dilution issue. The engine releases toxic gas from the engine compartment to interior of the car though the air duct. This gives me major headache and forces me to drive with my widow open as to not worsen my asthma issues. After checking the oil dipstick I can smell the gas aroma coming from the oil. This is a serious environmental issue and an even greater health concern of mine. I pray my health does not deteriorate to where I develop cancer from the toxins.
