2017 Honda CR-V owner complaints

I have had all warning lights go on disabled some options, gave me incorrect speed, (i ended up w a speeding ticket over that) made my vehicle go in limp mode ,didn't want to accelerate on highway, could have caused an accident I have a young child and was scared to even drive it. It turned out to be my fuel injectors which was very pricey and I had honda do the repair. I have seen a whole lot of people with this issue with the engine I have which is the 1.5 turbo. I think it should be addressed by honda and they should really be fixing the issue at no cost especially since they know the original injectors were faulty and they changed the part number. Hope it gets addressed on behalf of hundreds of thousands of these vehicles and not so happy honda customers.

The engine is not receiving any fuel to start and idle car.

My 2017 Honda cr-v has an issue with gasoline getting into the engine oil, which is raising the oil level, turning the oil black, and making it smell of gasoline. I fear that this is thinning the oil to the point where it is not protecting the engine from wear.

When I got into car in shopping plaza parking lot I attempted to put my vehicle in reverse at which time and the gear shifter knob fell out and crumbled into pieces. Not able to move vehicle nor put in park. After inspecting temporarily put piece in which enabled me to get home. While driving felt very unsafe not knowing if it would remain in gear. Once home unable to put in park. Luckily vehicle has button brake system which enabled me to put brakes on and get husband's help. He temporarily enabled vehicle into park after which vehicle although in park never fully turned off. Due to christmas could not get to dealer til today. Battery dead. Car shut down while driving in middle of highway couldn’t even get it to shoulder. Everything stopped. Would not restart. Took to Honda Dealer. “Reset” fuel pump. Said we were out of gas but there was still 1/8 tank. No other diagnosis. Very unsafe.

After a 30 minute drive on the highway I stopped for around 15 minutes and when I started the engine the dash board would not light up all lights were off, although the engine was running. The indicators were not working and the screen inside the car also stopped working. I also noticed that the trunk could not open. This first happened when the cat was still under warranty (around 6000 miles on it), the dealer said they could not find a problem, but they had to do a "hard reset" to get the electrical systems back on. Two years after the same thing happened ( car now has around 12000 miles), but the lights went back on when I restarted the car. On two separate occasions while getting into the car, all the windows went down half way on their own after I opened the door with the remote.

On three recent occasions while driving, the dashboard warning lights indicated multiple system failures including a brake system problem. The car was going about 25-35 MPH each time going straight. On all instances, the car seemed fine despite the warnings. In the first two instances the warning lights went out after about one minute and in the third instance it stayed on even when the engine was shut off although it did go out after the car was shut off overnight and restarted. It is very concerning when any warning goes off but especially so when it indicates a brake problem. I bought my Honda CRV in 2017 brand new, I have replaced the battery 3 times since then. This last time after replacing the battery all warning lights displayed. All warning lights cycle through. When these warning lights cycle through I am not able to engage any of my safety features. I was able to resolve the warning lights from displaying by driving 5 mph and then hitting the brake, but upon driving my car again later that day all warning lights reappear. As I am not able to use safety features on my car due to these warning lights being active, my car is deemed unsafe. It also appears on research that many owners of this vehicle are experiencing the same unsafe issue with no confirmed resolution.

The Honda cr-v 2017 touring model has experienced several keyless remote transmitter error messages on the dashboard display. The last time this problem happened was on december 24, 2018 at around 5:00 pm and the engine would not stop running. With the vehicle in park I pushed the start/stop button repeatedly with my foot on and off the brake pedal. The only way I could get tne engine to stop running was to walk away from the vehicle with the keyless remote transmitter and have the passenger push the start/stop button. I took the vehicle into the Honda dealer on december 26, 2018 and they said - "no problem found at this time". The vehicle was stationary the entire time of this incident.

I have had multiple instances where several system alerts pop up on my dashboard for no apparent reason (lane keeping assist problem, road departure mitigation system problem, adaptive cruise control problem, collision mitigation system problem, and brake system light). This has happened intermittently since I first owned my brand new car (the first time it happened was one month after owning it). I have taken it to my dealer several times and they have tried various things, but Honda has yet to come up with a proper solution. This has happened both when turning my car on, as well as when I'm driving.

Gasoline enters engine oil causing it overfills and far exceeding the max mark. Engine oil also has a strong smell of gasoline. It may cause long term damage to the engine with engine oil diluted.

The contact owns a 2017 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 93,000.

Upon seeing all of the complaints about the 1.5 liter turbo engine in the cr-v's and civics, I inspected the oil in my 2017 Honda cr-v only 100 miles after it was changed by the local Honda dealer. I pulled out the dipstick and noticed that the oil level was over the recommended limit and it was very dark in color. I leaned into the engine and noticed a strong presence of a gasoline smell. I have also noticed the presence of this smell before inside of the cabin but I thought it could be from something else. I am convinced it's coming from the engine. Honda needs to do something about this.

The plastic shift knob button popped out of the shifter handle while the car was running and in gear. I could not stop the engine or shift gears. Fortunately, I was able to locate the plastic button from the floor of the car with my left hand and insert it loosley into the shifter handle and then put the car into park and turn the engine off.

The shifter knob, Honda part no. Honda 54132tlaa62zb, fell off during use. This locks the transmission in whatever gear was last used - a potentially dangerous situation. The heritage Honda service advisor tells me that Honda is experiencing a lot of these failures.

Audio head unit (7" LED panel on ex-l) on dashboard does not dim at night. When you try and move the dimmer slider on the unit, it tries to dim, than goes back to full brightness. The dealer has tried to fix this for over a year, and it's still not fixed. Doing a quick google search shows many others having the same problem. This is a safety issue because it's too bright at night and affects/interferes with night driving especially when making right hand turns by creating a blinding condition.

Paint bubbles at the lip of my hood, not due to rust or an accident - 3 different areas varying in size. I will have Honda look at it but other reports show that Honda does not fix - it is out of bumper to bumper warranty. Only one pic would send I have 3
