2017 Nissan Murano owner complaints

Front radar obstruction warning comes on and and cruise will turn off and vehicle will start quickly slowing down. This happens in both city and highway driving. After about 5 to 10 minutes the warning light goes off and I can reset the cruise. I believe this is a safety issue and brought it to the attention of the dealer but they said there was nothing they can do unless there is a recall.

Murano is two years old and the dealer advised that the gasket in the oil pan and the engine gasket are leaking and need to be replaced. Why are both gaskets going on a 2year SUV?

My car is stalled when I press on the gas pedal to accelerate. It happens many times and the recent one is yesterday 11/11/2025.

Platinum package. When car is in motion, forward collision warning system malfunction incorrectly identifies a pending collision, indicating that a collision is imminent. Once the warning occurs, both visual on the dash, and audible beep, it will not go away. It continues until the vehicle is turned off. Occurs often. Dealership attempts to repair fail. Parts departments claim replacement parts are not available. This is dangerous to timid drivers in heavy traffic. Although problem exists in light traffic as well.

The brake fluid continues to leak the CVT affected therefore the car only drives backwards. It has under 70,000 miles. It completely stopped while driving in the middle of traffic. I had to have it towed. There was no notice of this issue prior to this incident.

Rattling / vibrating noises interior left door / vent / dash at elevated temperatures. Nissan is aware of defective parts. 4 attempts were made to repair it and the problem still persists at external temperature above 90 degrees (florida summer). The noises occur while driving around 45 MPH and are a major disatraction and safety issue.driving in city streets. The noise is intermittent and according to the dealer Nissan has previously issued an advisory (to dealers) with a fix. The "rubber band type fix" is temporary and the noises keep on occurring, intermittently after it is parked in open area for 1-2 hours and car is driven on city streets at around 45 MPH. While driving with the cruise control engaged on my 2017 Nissan murano, a message appears on dash: unavailable front radar obstruction. The cruise control disengages at that point, requiring the driver to use the accelerator. At that point, I think the automatic braking is also disabled. The car currently has about 38000 miles on it and is 2 years old. The frequency of the problem has increased over time. I checked to make sure the sensor at the front bumper is clean. This error will happen on days with no rain or snow. At first, it errored when exiting a tunnel, but now it occurs randomly (but so far only when using cruise control). The ABS light, crash sensor light and traction control light will come on intermittently while the car is on. The three lights will come on at the same time, and will remain on until the vehicle is turned off. The lights do not come on each time the car is started, and when they do come on, it is not only at the time of start up. They usually come on at least once a day. They have come on when the vehicle is stopped, starting up from a red light, while driving (various speeds), etc. There is no rhyme or reason as to when the lights come on. The seat heating function on my vehicle failed due to electrical components becoming so hot that they melted the control module connector. The issue has been reviewed and confirmed by a Nissan dealership's service department. The service manager stated that he and his team would not plug the control module connector back in without my express direction because they considered it a fire hazard and a safety risk. There was no warning of this failure; the component simply stopped working but remained a fire risk. The only way I learned of the control module melting was after having the dealer's service department diagnose why the feature was no longer working. My murano starts sometimes, and sometimes it won't start at all.Nissan diagnostic was eletrical issues, they changed the ipdm, changed the eletrical dashboard, it worked for 11/2 weeks, and won't start again. This car is less than 50,000 miles. Apparently Nissan can't fix this problem. I'm desperate for help, cause I'm still paying for this car. It's currently in my garage, it has stopped me three times on the road, and twice, in my garage couldn't start

When making sharp turn (left or right) into fast moving traffic and driving straight after the turn, while pushing accelerator pedal hard, the RPM will go up high but the speed will not (it will increase very slowly). The RPM would stay high (5000 to 6000) there will be lots of noise from the drive train but nothing will happen to lower the RPM. In order to make the CVT work properly after that, the accelerator pedal has to be fully released and the RPM will have to go down. I can replicate this condition most of the time (it depends on whether the accelerator pedal is pushed hard enough while turning), and it has been happening ever since purchase of this car. At the dealership garage I was told that since there is no fault code they can't help and refused to take a ride in the car.

Car hesitates when pulling out into traffic! If I come to a rolling stop or a full stop and try to pull out, the car seems like iy may die but eventually kicks in, but seconds could mean a collision. My husband says he does not experience this and its my driving, but my daughter has had ths happen also and I have others witness this also. This is an ongoing problem, makes me afraid of driving my new car.

Have noticed when turning a corner vehicle has some slight jerking motions before it picks up speed. Vehicle also has a whining/humming sound that it’s making somewhere in the transmission (CVT). I haven’t ever received a recall or CVT extended warranty about this vehicle before but I received this warranty in the mail last week 11-12-25..This warranty would have covered my problems with the vehicle but I was told it expired last year.. Why send it to me this year and it’s useless

The vehicle was taken to orr Nissan of wichita (10625 e kellogg dr, wichita, ks 67207, (316) 681-6900) where it was diagnosed that the distance monitoring system for the cruise control needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided case number: [xxx]. The contact was advised to file a complaint with NHTSA. C/s forward collision warning keeps periodically coming on with no obstruction in front of vehicle. First reported june 2018, replaced failed again, curating under engineering review, at this time when it alarms all time, also curse control does not work, and side alarm off and on. When in motion, we have insurance discount for the collision warning system that is not working.

The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Murano. The contact stated she and her son were getting sick due to " silent fumes" entering the vents of the vehicle. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact sought medication attention for headaches, high blood pressure, and dizziness. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where a failure was not determined. The dealer replaced the air cabin filter and the engine filter but she continued to experience the same symptoms. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 103,000.

I took my car in for service, including tire rotation. When I got home, I noticed that 2 lug nuts looked like they were missing. I have had many issues with dealership before and going back at the time to get fixed was inconvenient, I did not know the possible consequences of issues. I took car back in today for service and the service advisor told me I had 2 broken wheel studs, this could have caused my tire to fall off. In the repair paperwork, they only wrote they replaced lug nuts. The issue is whether missing lug nuts or broken wheel studs, they should have never let me drive off that lot with a tire issue that could have caused a major accident and caused my life.
