I had an sua (sudden unintended acceleration). I drove up an incline into the "driveway" of the holiday in in downtown san diego, pulled up into a small circular area/driveway where you can register for your room or pick up or drop off people. My foot was on the brake, I was stopping the car to pick up my daughter and her boyfriend. And the car took off on it's own. I tried desperately to use the brakes, but they wouldn't work, so I kept driving around the circular driveway to keep control of the car while I kept trying to stop the car to no avail. The car kept accelerating and screeching around the driveway and then I finally lost control and the car hit a wall to my right, then moved a bit forward and bumped into a curb on the left and finally stopped.my other daughter was in the passe

The adaptive cruise control in this vehicle has several operational issues (programming bugs or defects) which are potentially extremely hazardous. Perhaps the most potentially dangerous behavior of the system is as follows: - when using adaptive cruise control, the system automatically accelerates and applies braking force to stay a set distance (one of three distances) from the nearest preceding vehicle. - when the nearest preceding vehicle changes lanes, the system can become confused, display "no preceding vehicle" and disengage. - this behavior can be dangerous or life-threatening in some cases, which I've experienced several times: what happened: - highway driving at 65mph, using adaptive cruise control and following another vehicle. - we approach an area of congesti

Toyota prius prime 2017 lane departure warning with steering assist. This steering assist function does not work as it does in any other Toyota model. I have spoken with Toyota engineering and met with a Toyota technical representative and they admit that the steering assist function does not work as it does in any other Toyota model. As you will see from my attached document this function really doesn't work at all. I am not sure if this is a regulated safety feature or not but it was suggested by a Toyota employee that I make the NHTSA aware of this failure as it could be a safety concern that should be looked at. I have driven at least 5 prius prime advanced and all have this problem in that the steering assist function does not work in any of them even though it is advertised and sold

Car was on 2 lane blacktop in 40 MPH zone driving apx 35 MPH, a female, responsible owner/driver age 79 was driving when suddenly, without any warning, comes to near halt in road and pulls/hard to right hand side of shoulder off the road. Unable to fill gas tank. Vapor-containment valve engages during refuelling, causing fuel to spill to ground and unable to fill more that one-half gallon of fuel. Topic: 2017 prius windshield cracked. I have 2017 prius purchased new about a month ago with 1500 miles driven. 2 days ago, when I pumped gas, I noticed a small crack in upper right hand side along the edge. I don't remember getting hit by an object while driving. Yesterday the cracks gotten longer. Checked thickness between my finger, it looks the same as that of a drinking glass. A quick search on internet revealed that it is a very common issue with 2016 or newer model. Called Toyota and was informed that it is a manufacture defect. I have owed other vehicles made by Toyota and Honda that were hit with flying object with no problem. Even with crack, it shouldn't have spiraled out that fast and large. Please investigate to see if it is design mistake in pursue of weight reduct

For the past year or so we have had issues with the vehicle not starting properly. If we leave the radio, wipers, heater, or air conditioner in the ON position when we shut the car off, or a window down a little on a hot day, a sensor triggers a Low Battery error code. We have had the battery checked and it is NOT low. When this happens to start the car we need to get a jumpstart from someone. This limits where we feel safe driving to as in a remote place where not many other people and cars are it would be more difficult to find someone to give us a jumpstart. On occasion, we have had to call a towing service to come to help us, which requires sometimes a long wait. The car starts right up once the connection to the other vehicle's battery is made. We should not need a checklist to

My complaint has to do with a design "feature" of my new vehicle. Having owned it less than a week, no related incident has occurred. However, I see an unnecessary risk due to this design. My new car, a 2017 prius 4 touring, comes with no spare tire. There are three prius models like that, even for the 2018 model year. Have you considered the related safety aspects of that Toyota decision? In the western us, especially, there are many paved roads with little or no traffic and spotty, if any, cell phone service. Typically, they are in desert areas, scorching in the summer, frigid in winter, with towns far apart. If a driver of a car like mine has a tire blowout in such a remote area, he/she is literally stranded. The supplied tire repair kit will not help in case of a blowout. Average
