See attached document for complaint. I wanted to express my displeasure with the manner in which the above reference recall was conducted. The timeline left many owners with expensive replacement bills for new tires to replace inadequate tires that were installed as OEM on our vans. The message boards tell a story of frustration for a large group of consumers. As you know the recall was originally made in July of 2022. The notice to dealers went out in September of 2022. Mercedes Benz appeared to really drag their feet on a solution to the issue with the first small number of remedies (219 out of 24,359) in the second quarter of 2024. Remedies did not begin in earnest until the beginning of 2025 almost two and half years after the recall was originally published. As the original ti res we

Overloading over time could cause excessive tire wear and in a worst case scenario, could lead to tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash. An authorized Mercedes-Benz Metris dealer will replace the tire information label on the B-pillar and fuel filler door. Dealers will also check the tires on the vehicle to verify that they are the correctly specified tires. If the tires on the vehicle are of a lower rating than what is specified in the Operators Manual, the tires will be replaced with new tires having the specified load rating. This repair will be done free of charge.

The digital display system that indicates how many miles you have left until empty is not accurate. The dashboard display indicated that I had about 85 miles of range left before my tank was empty. Approximately 35 miles later, when there should have been 50 miles of range left according to the digital dashboard display, the vehicle ran out of gas and I was left stranded on the side of the freeway. This is a safety issue. I have read numerous reports of similar incidents with this vehicle in online forums.

Wheel speed sensors appear to fail on a routine basis (every 0-10 months), similar to the subject of recall 21V-042 on Sprinter vans. Sensor failure disables most safety features of vehicles including ABS, blind spot warning, assisted steering, and other safety features. THe failure causes notable issues with handling/steering and braking. Failure at highway speed impacts vehicle driving stability and increases the risk of a crash. Dealer previously repaired under warranty in October or November 2021. Unit failed in traffic at highway speed again in September 2022. Contacted dealer and was informed they are not scheduling maintenance appointments at this time and would not reimburse the cost of repair by an outside mechanic. They would also not acknowledge whether the vehicle is saf

The stability control light, ABS brakes, collision assist came on then as I pulled onto the interstate the car started bucking lost acceleration and I had an 18 wheeler running up my rear trying to brake. The vehicle went into limp mode. I am familiar with wheel sensor failures how this vehicle reacts is seriously a danger hazard and should be recalled. This is my 3rd wheel sensor on this vehicle in 8 months.

The check engine light came on, with code P052E indicating a positive crankcase ventilation valve failure. Dealer inspection revealed the PCV valve is sticking and recommended a replacement with a $2100 charge. This is a widely experienced problem with this engine in many Mercedes vehicles, suggesting that the cause is a manufacturer defect.
