At 3 separate times while driving my car just suddenly brakes and one of the times was doing between 40 and 50 with no other car around and suddenly with no warning car starts beeping and comes to an abrupt halt jacking the seatbelt tight and coming to a complete stop then proceeding along as if nothing happened.

Backup camera shuts off. Occasionally when backing up using the rear camera assistant (built into the infotainment screen) the system will shutoff and display the Bluetooth song which is playing. This is dangerous because, a) that camera is there for our safety, and b) its hard to see if anything has moved directly behind the car in the time it takes for the driver to transition from the backup screen to the mirrors.
When driving on the highway the automatic brake system will break in the middle of the highway and malfunction and can cause an accident.
Tl* the contact's mother owns a 2018 Nissan rogue. On two occasions, while driving at unknown speeds, the vehicle independently decelerated and the forward collision avoidance system activated independently without another vehicle being in close proximity. The vehicle was taken to ganley's mayfield Nissan (6060 mayfield rd, mayfield heights, oh 44124, (440) 449-9500) where a software update was performed; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 16,200.
The contact sharing a rollaway incident w/ a 2018 Nissan rogue. The car was in park when the event occurred. I've a fuller version of this, if needed.*dt *dt*dt*dt*dt*jb*dt*dt*dt *tp details: on 12/16/19, I came home around 4:45pm. It was raining & almost dark. My son was in backseat & I was driving. I parked at the top of my driveway, front 1st. (the driveway is long/sloped, but evens at the top, still slightly angled.) I put the car into park, pressed the parking break (per habit), and, leaving the car completely on, I unlocked my home's door. My son was in the car, listening to a song, as I got the trash cans/mail from the curb. (this all took 5 mins, thus, I know that the car was in park, not neutral or reverse.) I opened the front passenger door & told my son to go in the house. Stan
While the vehicle was in motion driving straight at approximately 30 miles per hour, at 7:52am on university blvd at highway 75, the automatic emergency braking system engaged for no reason causing the vehicles brakes to inappropriately engage. This was a failure of the automatic emergency braking system due to the random nature and the fact there was no hazard or condition requiring the automatic emergency braking to become engaged. This is not the first time this has happened and at least one previous safety complaint has been entered. This failure of the automatic emergency braking system do cause the vehicle to stop and is a very serious safety concern.
While driving at a speed of about 15 mile per hour my car's automatic braking system engaged with no other vehicles or obstructions around. My car came to a sudden stop and when I hit the gas it was still kept from moving by the brakes. I did not see any emergency light and when I took it to the dealer they said there was no record of the emergency braking system being engaged.
Drive in a residential street less the 30 vehicles light turned on and car brakes came to a complete stop it has happened twice it first did this on 8/24/21 and again on 12/12/21
Purchased new on august 1, 2018 Nissan rogue sv. At 500 miles the collision avoidance system cas engaged un-expectantly while driving down a two lane road with no other traffic on the road. Car immediately began braking hard, instrument gages began flashing, and a burning smell coming through the vents. Returned it to stuart Nissan in enid, ok. They first stated they had never heard of this happening and knew of no tech bulletins advising same. I then provided them information I retrieved from the Nissan site to include the fault code associated with the incident. They first attempted to re-program the computer with no success. They then replaced the computer and installed new programming. This seems to have resolved the issue, as it has not reoccurred since. However when I expressed the p
Using the info center to have hands free usage. The info center restarts periodically while driving. It doesn't appear to affect the drivability of the car, but if navigating using the info center it could cause a distraction for the driver if in an unknown area or place the driver in an unfamiliar/unsafe area. At present, it restarts on its own and reconnects to the current setting. It has not been inspected or reported to anyone as of yet. It is happening more frequently.

I purchased this car brand new. 2 weeks later I was diving on the freeway and the park brake system light went and bam the brakes hit. Scared the crap out of me. I've owned this car for 8 months now. Its happened to me 6 times already. The bad thing is you never can predict it. I've taken it to the local dealer and all they tell me is that they can get it to duplicate. So I went on line to do my own research and found a bunch of other people with the same issue. I am elderly so I was starting to think I was going crazy and also the Nissan dealer was making me out to be as well. I purchased a new car so I could be safe. I feel like I'm driving around a loaded unpredictable gun. These incidents happened on the freeway going south i25 of albuquerque. The other happened on bridge and isleta a
Abrupt automatic unwarranted braking occurred in two incidents while travelling on boulevard. Weather was clear, there were no vehicles in front (and fortunately none behind) when the automatic braking system engaged. Did not bring vehicle to complete stop but the brakes were automatically applied and abrupt slowing down of vehicle occurred. This braking system did work properly in at least two other conditions - ie driving into interior home garage. Unexpected automatic emergency braking while driving with no obvious obstacles (ie vehicles, road debris) is dangerous.
Sudden braking while driving, with no reason or cause. No objects or vehicles in front to cause it to happen. It has occurred multiple times without warnings, putting my family and I in jeopardy.
I was driving 50mph in a 50mph zone and the Forward Collision Avoidance system activated emergency braking, bringing vehicle to an immediate halt in a lane of traffic. Conditions were wet from earlier rainfall; however, no hazards or vehicles were immediately in front of me. This activation tugged on my seatbelt and chest and collarbone resulting in pain while the vehicle lunged me forward. Due to the immediate breaking of my vehicle, vehicles behind me were forced to quickly break or make a lane change. If the vehicles behind me were not responsive enough, I would’ve been struck by a vehicle going 40-50mph. The problem has not been reproduced or inspected; however, this has happened 3-4 other times with no attention to the matter.
Since purchasing this vehicle used in dec 2019 there has been many occasions of the forward alert for collision activating and there was no other cars near the front of the vehicle, it flashes on the dash so quickly and goes off before we can see what it's saying.there has also been many occasions of the automatic breaking activating and auto breaking while driving at various speeds including on the interstate and leaving the interstate onto off ramps as well as normal city driving. Just recently found this reporting site and as we are afraid of a rear end collision happening if this is not addressed with Nissan.
Automating braking engaged while driving 60 MPH on highway.

Vehicle transmission stutters and struggles to shift in higher gears. Occasionally knocks. The transfer case was faulty 3 months ago and broke/fell apart while I was driving down the highway. The vehicle almost lost control and the dealership said the transfer arm had snapped. The transmission still makes the same heavy knocking and occasionally 'slips' as the CVT transmission hesitates to shift. The vehicle has very slow acceleration because of this and even when accelerating at a slow speed like from a stop sign the tires will jump as if the axles are moving faster or slower than the transmission is firing.
Car tends to shut off. This is the 3rd time with no resolution other than, 'perform another diagnostic and get a rental.' I was parked. Was ready to leave at/or about an hour later; wouldn't start. It does not recognize the key.

Vehicle failed to accelerate properly on an uphill incline. It felt as though it was stuck in a lower gear and unable accelerate due to gear change causing engine revving and shuddering. Very frightening experience which has now occurred twice.
electrical 1 complaint shown
Leased a 2018 Nissan rogue in august of 2018 and started having electrical issues with the vehicle. While driving, the navigation screen, center cluster where the speedometer is and all air condition and electronics would power off and restart itself, as if I was cranking the vehicle up. Took the car in for service and the dealership stated they had never seen this issue before and that they didn't know how to fix it. The dealership called me the next day stating the car was ready. On my way home from the dealer, the sensor system that works with the automatic emergency braking failed. I totaled the vehicle and fractured c5, c6, c7 in my neck, and had to wear a cervical collar for 4 months following the accident. I also suffered a concussion. Nissan took over and started they needed to per
