Instrument cluster comes on and off whenever it wants, leaves me in the dark without it while driving. Dealer states there’s nothing they can do except replace screen. This started after I had my truck serviced at a dealership and the dealer stated it was like this when they got it. Everything worked great until I had it serviced. Now it’s just dangerous to not have a dash that works.

electrical 4 complaints shown
Water (rain, car wash, etc) is leaking through the rear power sliding window and into the vehicle and damaging the interior (headliner, seats). This is a known issue by Ram/fca and they have not recalled them yet. This can be a safety issue when driving. I'm also concerned that if water sits inside of the liner can it cause mold to form? Also can it short out any electrical to the window? When I noticed it happen to me the vehicle was parked.
2019 Ram with 12" screen developed electrical issues with 5100 miles. The screen and other electrical items will work fine in the accessory mode but as soon as you start the vehicle the screen goes black and a lot of electrical issues begin. The defroster goes on high, the seat does not automatically go forward, the front windows do not work and the blind spot sensor will not work. With screen out you have no backup camera and losing the blind spot also causes serious risk of an accident. First dealer the truck was taken to could not solve the problem. I have an appointment with another dealer and hope that they can resolve these issues. I noticed online they have a problem with the unconnect and sirius radio but I don't know if this is associated with my problem.
The cluster screen went out while stopped at a stop light just 2 months after purchasing our brand new truck.
steering 4 complaints shown
The vehicle initially had a reported steering failure twice on december 19th. This was reported to NHTSA under file 1162423. The vehicle was taken to the dealer the same day. The dealer was unable to determine why this occurred. Then, again on december 30th this occurred again at highway speed, almost causing a collision. Immediately contacted the dealer again and the dealer was concerned over safety issue and offered a rental vehicle while inspecting the vehicle. On the way to the dealer this morning, the power steering turn off and again the message center displayed in red " power steering unavailable service required".. This was displayed on the prior occasions.... While driving slowly to the dealer this loss of steering occurred another 3 times intermittently with another warning "ser
Started truck in a parking lot and started to pull away, went to turn and truck went straight till it indicated to 'service power steering.' once I realized it had lost all power steering I was able to limp it home with much effort to make turns. Traffic was light so was able to use multiple lanes to make turns. While driving home however, about 65 MPH the power steering came back on pulled the truck hard to the right and centered back up, then quit again after three miles.
Complete loss of power steering assist while driving on local street / in light traffic. Power steering unavailable / service required warning appeared on dash. Was able to control truck and get to nearest dealership.
I was driving down interstate i95, when I got an alarm on my dashboard saying my power steering was unavailable, and I had no power steering, I took my truck to the dealer and they checked for loose wires and changed the PCM module and the battery sensor, my truck has been there 3 times as this last from anywhere from 10 seconds to 10 minutes, and has been doing this 6-10 times a day

Rear window has began to crack from the inside and a lot of water comes in to the rear. My seats get wet and also the carpet of the truck. Starting to smell and might have mold. The headliner also gets water. My concern is that it may build up mold throughout time. Fca is unwilling to replace the window outside of the bumper to bumper warranty even though this is a major issue for the 5th generation Ram and there are many others that have come across this issue. They have also knowledge of this and have sent out a letter to their service teams (see picture). The water can come in when left outside during a rain storm or simply going thru the car wash. Any water that hits the roof of the truck and goes to the back will eventually make it through the rear window crack and inside the truck.
Third brake light rear window leak and plastic black trim is cracked on both sides. Causing water damage to the backside of my seats and I don't want any electrical to get shorted out by the water damage. It's been declined for warranty repair at plymouth Dodge dealership. Have many other friends with the same issues and had him warrantee fixed by dealer.
Rear window plastic cracked/leaking when raining or going through a car wash. Dealer fixed 3rd brake light and resealed antenna but window still leaking headliner and seats get soaking wet I have a video of this happening but it won't let me upload it
powertrain 2 complaints shown
On December 30, 2023, my 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie edition suddenly and unexpectedly popped out of gear into neutral while driving approx. 35 mph. The vehicle engine was on, however, no power was being applied to the drive train as the vehicle was in Neutral. The engine revved fine, just no power to the drive train. The gear selector flashed “D” and a message appeared on the center console information center instructing me to shift into Park. I had to stop the truck in traffic, shift to Park, then back into Drive to get the truck moving again. This was a very serious and potentially dangerous situation requiring me to stop on the roadway before I could effectuate shifting into Park and then back to Drive to get the truck moving again. I contacted the Ram dealer that same day and was able to o
Vehicle behaved erratically before repair and still does. It seemed a bit better after the repair but issues are still there. It lurches forward when coming to a stop and accelerates in a delayed manner, starting slow and then jumping forward. The 4 wheel drive issues system errors like overheated and function diminished. At times it just doesn't work. Systems turn themselves on. (axle lock) These issues existed since the vehicle was new with the dealership telling me they didn't know what could cause them.

As with an overwhelming amount of other Ram trucks, my rear sliding window frame has cracked. This causes water to leak in through the crack when it rains. The water leaking in can damage the headliner and could cause an electrical short in the rear of the truck. An updated window with a metal frame would be much better than the OEM one and probably fix the issue everyone is having.
2 Issues to go over: 1.) The rear defroster. My defroster has failed on me twice. First time I had it repaired, second time they were going to charge me the same amount for the same failure. I had it repaired by my local auto shop, So it has not been touched by a manufacturer technitian. No warning to it at all. I only noticed it once I had ice covering my rear window and could not defrost, elimitating any center rear view completetly. 2.) The Main issue is the side view mirrors. They are automatic mirrors with a button on the interior to open and close them. From what the Dealership has told me is they use plastic gears to control the mirror operation. And they tend to get stripped out, this happens so often that there is a 6 month backorder on these parts. The safety issue arrises when

Rear window structure frame cracks prematurely causing structural damage due to water leaking through into the cab of the truck. This defective backlite by RAM 1500 has been leaking causing the rear window visibility to be affected by fogging up too easily and water dripping through the windows frame on to the inside of the window, also the vehicle is equipped with a battery pack behind the rear seat and if left to get wet will cause failures and damage to vehicle electrical system. The vehicle has been inspected and confirmed by the Ram certified dealership. Manufacture has been informed of this ongoing issue and has issued prior TSB cases for this defect. No prior issues with rear window prior to noticing the faulty cracked window frame. It appears this has been happening to several ram
My sunroof exploded and sprayed shards of glass all over the inside of of the truck and passengers.
airbags 2 complaints shown
I was in the left turn lane waiting to turn when I was struck by another car at about 40 MPH. His air bags were deployed but my airbags did not deploy. I was hit and had damage in the front center to the drivers side front clip, even my door was a little hard to open.
On 11/20/20 my Ram truck was hit on the right front corner and totaled. We were at a stop light and just started to complete a left hand turn on a city street when the other driver ran a red light, he was issued a citation for running a red light, and was "probably" speeding. We were in a 35mph zone. The air bags failed to deploy. I contacted Chrysler and this is part of their conclusion. "the conclusion of the investigation is that the rate of deceleration necessary to activate the air bag system was not present during this accident. A information regarding the air bag system may be found in your owner's manual. For additional facts, you may also want to visit NHTSA website: https://www.NHTSA.gov/equipment/air-bags. In other words any time you are hit and don't have advance warn
