My sons 2020 Ford f150 felt like it was losing power. As I turned onto highway. The truck shifted from the first gear to second gear smoothly, asthe truck shifted from 2-3 , the truck reved and did not engage into 3rd gear. I let off the gas, thinking it will catch the next gear and continue to increase speed. But it did not, it again reved and did not engage into 3rd gear. Now the traffic was flying past me, I pressed the accelator to the floor in an attempt to avoid an accident and not be rearended. After several seconds, the transission engaged and the truck began to move forward at a slow pace. This is when I noticed on my fordpass app, saying powetrain malfunction/reduced power. I was able to get the truck to the closest gas station, where I shut the truck off. After several minutes,

When manually shifting between gears the shifting is a very sudden jolt which results in startling the driver as well as all passengers. This also happens during simple driving around town while doing no manual shifting. Often times there is a delay in acceleration. This is not normal shifting.

Driving on the highway, at approx 70 MPH, truck suddenly shifted to neutral, though gear indicator showed in 1st gear. After several seconds the truck shifted back into high gear with a jolting BANG. This happened three times in a row, then the service light came on, and truck continued to operate but not up shift to 10th gear. This happened after about 1 hour of driving. A few hours later on the return trip home the same thing happened after 45-60 mins of driving at highway speeds. Truck at times does not go into gear when at stand still (shifting out of park), or slams into gear very had, jolting the occupants.

This is my second time filing a report with NHTSA. I purchased the subject 2020 Ford F-150 around October of 2023 from a Chevrolet dealer in Ohio. The vehicle had approximately 19,000 miles at the time of purchase and was covered under the OEM factory warranty. I began having transmission shifting problems as commonly associated with this model of transmission that resulted in a rebuild of the CDF drum of the transmission. I was traveling on [XXX] between Atlanta and the Florida line when my vehicle experienced erratic shifting and a catastrophic loss of power that placed me and my vehicle in peril. I was able to safely exit the highway to allow the engine to cool down, and I elected to limp the vehicle at low speed on back roads to my destination so the vehicle could be repaired. This w

My truck has 4 backup collision warning sensors on the rear bumper. After some heavy rain, I have had 1 sensor start to indicate a close object as I start to back up my vehicle. There is no object back there. This initially occurred in a parking lot, but the problem now persists and the audible warning with a dash camera indicator light goes off whenever I back up the truck.

While driving on a highway at 65mph I heard an explosion. After pulling over I discovered that the back glass had shattered. I was not passing a vehicle and nothing else was around to cause it. Contacted the dealership where purchased and they will not replace because "blown out" glass is not covered by the warranty. This truck has 3,700 miles on it. My insurance will cover the cost but that isn't the point. This is dangerous! The inside pressure shattered the whole glass and actually blew a hole through on one side. The glass was falling out on the bed of the truck. I have noticed since purchasing the truck that the doors are hard to close (you have to almost slam them) unless you leave a window down a little.

The adaptive cruise control on the vehicle failed. When passing other vehicles, the system will engage the brakes unexpectedly and aggressively causing possible loss of control and exposes other drivers behind you to collide with your vehicle. Dealership did inspect vehicle but was unable to duplicate. This generally occurs on highway driving over long distances. There are no warning signs that this is going to occur. All of a sudden you will just feel the vehicle brake extremely hard. This happened multiple times while in used during 400 mile trip. (stopped using for remainder of the trip)

My back window randomly shattered when it wasn’t being driving. I assumed a rock was flung up from the road from another vehicle, causing it to shatter, but when I took it to get it replaced, the glass technician pointed out that the defroster heater wire overheated, causing the glass to shatter. Reports online show this has happened before. My tech said it could have caught the truck on file. I tried to upload photos of the shattered window and the burnt electrical wire, but the website wouldn’t let me.
