2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee owner complaints

Screen constantly freezes and it's unresponsive for long periods of time, then reboots. Then the cycle repeats. Serious safety hazard as the back up camera image freezes on the screen and doesn't change, even though your moving and the image video should have changed. This has been happening since the car was bought new and dealership says they're nothing that can be done

I bought my 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk used from Carmax and after barely having it 7 months it is now totaled by Insurance company. The reason: driving home from work on state highway at approx. 45mph on November 24, 2021 after dark. Came over rise in road to see about 10 vehicles completely stopped in front of me about 100 yards away. I applied the brakes and nothing happened. Took foot off brake pedal & tried again... nothing. I had to swerve off road to keep from running into back of vehicle(s) stopped in front of me. Was able to safely miss damaging/injuring any other vehicles/people. Struck a tree on the left front of Jeep. Applying brakes did not stop or slow my Jeep Grand Cherokee's speed. When tree was struck at approx. 45mph the airbags did not even deploy.

Purchased new in september. Currently has 2100 miles. Cruise control "sticks" and fails to disengage at the controls. When the accelerate control is depressed and released, the vehicle will continue to accelerate without capping the increase in acceleration until the system is disengaged with the brake pedal. Very dangerous! This scenario occurs both at lower and higher speeds over 55.

Display panel - delaminating - ghost entries while driving. Temporary confusion leading to possible loss of attention. Eyes off the road? Vehicle always garage kept. No harsh heat or cold. Common problem being ignored by dealer/manufacturer. Very expensive repair!

My Jeep is a 2020, and I recently bought it last June as a certified preowned vehicle from a Jeep dealership. I was having electrical and fuse problems when my moon roof on the vehicle stopped working. Recently driving home at night, I lost all lights on the vehicle. Headlight, high beams, brake lights and turn signals, the lights do not work on the vehicle and I was driving in the complete dark. My gas tank also was having issues and it does not allow me to fill the tank because it thinks it is always “full” even though it is not. I brought the vehicle to the dealership and they stayed I have a completely fried computer system as well as the vent tube on my gas tank is “clogged” and the entire gas tank needs to be replaced. While driving 60 miles per hour along the southbound express lane of garden state parkway my new 2020 Jeep grand cherokee started shaking. Within seconds, I pulled on to the grassy area next to the fast lane where my vehicle died. After getting towed to the dealership, I was notified that my new car with 329 miles on it is in need of a new engine, new batteries and new starter. Of notable concern on the repair order is the following: "what is present inside intake manifold is pieces of metal." while the case is not yet closed, Chrysler informed me they intend to fix the vehicle under warranty and return it to me. This is a serious safety concern and I fear the blown engine, dead batteries and starter could have caused additional, unrecognized damage.

I blacked out and went off the road at 40mph at 1 pm in the afternoon.. Car went through a wooded area for 100 yds. Many small trees and brush. Car was declared a total loss by insurance company. No airbags deployed.*dt*jb

Sunroof shattered while driving on the interstate. There was no impact to sunroof prior to and no known past impact to sunroof leading up to it shattering. The sunroof had previously shattered mid-drive on May 11, 2023. Impact to the sunroof had been heard ~2 weeks prior. The sunroof was fully replaced at the Jeep dealership the following week. Had sunroof shade been open, glass pieces would have posed a potential safety risk to driver and passengers eyes and drivers attention to the road. The vehicle component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, insurance, or law enforcement. No warning messages or symptoms were present to alert to the issue.

Hello, Before two months I bought preowned grand Cherokee north edition with 15.500 miles. When I start driving for the first few minutes I hear a sound like whistling, and it's like the engine is having a hard time getting up to speed. also very often when I shift the transmission into reverse I hear a knock.

My 2020 Jeep will regularly turnover but not start after pushing the start button. As of now, the vehicle will start normal after pushing the start button a second time. Research has shown many people have had and are still having this exact issue. It would seem that most of the ones with this problem have fixed the issue by having both fuel pumps replaced which is very expensive and in my opinion highly unreasonable being it is a very common issue for Jeep. Upon further research it would seem Jeep Grand Cherokees and Dodge Durangos which share the mechanical characteristics have been having this exact issue for at least 10 years now. I feel it is more than fair that the manufacturer should issue a recall and fix the defect they have obviously known about for quite some time now.

Car wouldn't shift into drive. Git car towed in was told possible cam shaft issues. Car has been back 3 more times for same issue finally Stellantis replaced cam shaft. Now same problems are occurring and Jeep wants me to pay to replace engine on a 4 year old car.

The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that on multiple occasions while driving 30 MPH and various other speeds, an audible warning sound was heard inside the vehicle and the temperature gauge indicated that engine was overheating. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 28,000.

While slowly turning into a parking slot in front of a building, the vehicle surged forward, jumping the curb and striking a metal handrail and the corner of the building. Substantial damage resulted to the front, hood and cooling systems.

The car will be driving and it all of a sudden stops and has all the lights on the dashboard coming on. Every single warning light coming on the car comes to a stop and will not move. This has happened three times and the dealership tells me they don’t know what the issue is.

Power Steering As I was making a right hand turn the red warning power steering icon flashed on the dash and I was unable to complete the right hand turn and proceeded to drift in to the oncoming traffic lane and ended up on the sidewalk facing the on coming traffic lane. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed at this time The vehicle or component has not been inspected at this time This was the first time in traffic

I was in a head on collision in my 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee and another driver crossed the center line. I braked at approximately 40 mph the other car was driving the same speed downhill and made impact with the front drivers side bumper. Busting the headlight, washer fluid reservoir, threw my front grille at least 5 feet in front of the truck… their car’s front end was demolished. My airbags in my 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee did not deploy. I feel this is a fail on the manufacturer as there is no reason why one if not all airbags should not have deployed.

I was slowly backing into a driveway when the Jeep grand cherokee suddenly accelerated on its own. I repeatedly hit the brake pedal but the Jeep wouldn't stop; instead it kept going faster. It smashed into the garage door and the brick wall of the garage, demolishing them. The Jeep was brand new with only 500 miles driven, and it was equipped with a complete safety package that should have automatically stopped it before an impending impact but it did not do so. This was an extremely terrifying experience and it felt like a nightmare.

The contact stated that infotainment screen display image was distorted, and the buttons were intermittently inoperable. The local dealer was contacted, and an appointment was scheduled for inspection. The vehicle was not yet inspected or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was opened. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
