12/15/2023 ODI #11560316.0

Vehicle experienced catastrophic power failure while I was driving. Without warning, the vehicle shut down completely. The engine stopped, the brakes engaged, the dash went black. There was no way to communicate with the vehicle -- no way to engage emergency flashers or even to push it to the side of the road (because the brakes were locked). There was a loud "pulse" sound coming through the speakers -- "thump. . .thump. . .thump. . ." which continued for 5 - 10 minutes. A police officer who stopped to assist noted the rear tail lights were strobing. The "P" on the transmission shifter flashed continually. Over the next 30 minutes, the infotainment screen rebooted twice, but went to black within seconds. The instrument panel rebooted once, but also went black after a few seconds. The car

Our vehicle has multiple issues with it's brakes since we purchased the vehicle in December of 2021. Initially, when we would use our brakes while in reverse, the brakes would make a groaning sound (this started around January of 2022). We assumed it had something to do with the recall announced about the brakes of the vehicle and waited for parts to become available to get the brakes fixed. We finally got our brakes replaced once parts became available, but this did not fix the rear brake sound. The dealership replaced the rear brakes and the noise stopped. We brought the vehicle home and the front brakes began to squeal when using them while in drive. We called the dealership and let them know and they said to bring it back in. We brought the vehicle in, they replaced the front brakes an

The vehicle seems to have long stopping distances and I experienced shaking at highway speed. Also, when I back up, there is a very loud moaning noise, like a ‘ship horn’. This noise occurred several times from when I first bought the new vehicle and each time I took it to the dealer, they said they couldn’t duplicate the problem. That was over 4 times now that the dealer denied there was a problem. I then made a video of the noise to prove it to the dealer. They agreed there was a TSB for caliper pins and bushings, so they did that work. Before I left the dealer service department, the problem happened again to the Service Advisor, so they have the car now waiting for Ford to investigate. Online Ford Bronco forums also show a defect in the ‘coefficient of friction’ for the brake pa

12/18/2024 Fire ODI #11631525.0

The car caught fire the morning of Dec 11, 2024 while the vehicle's owner was driving their children to school. There are photos and a fire report is being generated. The vehicle's owner and her children could have been killed. Early indications are that the fire was caused by the same faulty engine/exhaust system defect that the owner has been complaining to Ford about for years. It is assumed the fire report will confirm that. For the past two or more years the vehicle has been emitting exhaust fumes into the passenger compartment of the vehicle while driving. This has caused the vehicle's owner and her children to get sick and forced them to drive the vehicle with the windows down at all times even in cold weather. Ford's dealers have confirmed the problem several times, but either coul

I bought my 2021 Ford Bronco at Morrie's Grand Ledge Ford. I live 10 minutes away from Morrie Ford Okemos. I received a recall notice from Ford Motor Company in August of this year regarding a recall of my specific vehicle. The issue is: "there is a possibility that a fuel injector may crack, which may result in fuel accumulating on the top of the engine. Liquid fuel and/or fuel vapor that accumulates near a hot surface, such as a hot engine or exhaust components may ignite resulting in an under-the-hood fire, increasing the risk of injury." I spoke to the Morrie's Okemos Ford Service Manager and was told "Ford Motor Company has not authorized this repair" and "there's nothing I can do about it." And, then he told me to call Ford Motor Company if I had a complaint. I am out of my mind fur
