2014 Chrysler Town and Country owner complaints

Passenger sliding door is buzzing any time the car is unlocked remotely, using a switch, or a button. Now continuously buzzes any time a door or door lock is activated.

The vehicle did not restart. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The airbag light on the instrument panel will randomly illuminate and ding as if the airbag has failed. This happens at random and under no specific circumstances while driving on the road. This concerns me for the fact I fear the air bags will not deploy if an accident occurs.

The vehicle was temporarily repaired without a permanent solution. The contact also stated that the dealer failed to provide a detailed diagnosis. An independent mechanic indicated that the computer module failed to function properly, which caused the vehicle to shake violently and caused a crack in the engine. Without warning the engine and all electrical components (interior and exterior lighting, radio, wipers, ac-heat/blower, brake assist, steering assist, airbag, speed indicator, etc) all shut off. There are no dash warning lights. The dashboard is completely black for a moment (until restart). This happened while the car was warm (after driving at highway speed for over 15min). This happened while the car was travelling at approximately 35-miles per hour on a city street. I was able to put the car in neutral and immediately restart without stopping. This was an extremely dangerous situation. If I was on a poorly lit road or going around a corner, or at a higher speed, or a less experienced driver, this could easily have been a fatal accident. I have a huge issue with the safety of my vehicle. while i am driving the car will race the RPMs up 6,000 up and down while I am going 65 on the highway, but the car down not speed up. the only way to stop it is to pull over the busy highway and restart the van. it will also sometimes drop down in gears and cause the vehicle to skid and shift the back end to the side. I called the deanship and they said the will not help. this is scary for me and my kids. to fix it would be over $5000 and that is more then the van is worth and I think it would be bad to sell it knowing this issue.

Vehicle was built in April 2014 and now has a transmission pump failure. Vehicles built between January and April 2014 were recalled. Subsequently 2015 through 2016 Vehicles were recalled for the same reasons.The Vehicle exhibit the exact symptoms as the recalled Vehicles. I also have obd data if needed for evidence.

The accelerator jammed at full throttle as we were making a right turn. There was nothing depressing the accelerator, but the engine was racing at full speed. The light was red, so I was forced to used the brakes to keep from hitting the car stopped at the light in front of us. The brakes weren't going to hold the vehicle back for long, so I shifted into neutral and turned off the engine. When I turned it back on the accelerator was still stuck at full throttle. Only after turning it off a second time, completely removing the key from the ignition, waiting for all the lights on the control panel to dim, and restarting it did the accelerator return to normal. The contact called laura Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram at 573-677-1300 (located at 7 n service rd w, sullivan, mo 63080) and was informed that the VIN was not included in a recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 129,000.

Headrest activated involuntarily during normal driving conditions

We had to replace the oil filter adapter in our van because it was leaking. Our mechanic said he is fixing a lot of these in vans similar to ours. When researching online, we see that large numbers of people with 2014 Chrysler vans have the same issue. Some even reported their vehicles catching fire as a result of the issue. It cost over $600 for us to have it repaired.

Driver seat active head restraint deployed when not in a collision. The car was off and we were loading kids in the car. Can't get it to go back together.

Airbag warning light notification staying on.

I bought van used but the red guy with the air bag is on all the time on the dash since I bought it. But reading about it, it's a safety issue in a lot of town and country's this year.

When driving on the highway at a constant speed and then accelerating the vehicle continues to accelerate even when the accelerator is released and the brake is depressed. After pressing the brake pedal several times the vehicle speed decreases. The acceleration continued from 10 to 20 seconds during these times. I have experienced this condition 5 or 6 times. The condition initially occurred in aug 2015 and I took it to a dealer but no codes were found and they could not duplicate the problem. The condition occurred again in 2018 on a more frequent basis (4 or 5 times). I again took the vehicle to a dealer and they could not duplicate. I also took the the vehicle to an independent shop that specializes in electrical and drivability issues. They had the cars for 2 days and could not dup

Driving one morning check engine light came on. Also noticed van not wanting to shift into overdrive 6th gear . Went to get code read p060dd was present . Started by checking oil very low . Then noticed oil all over the top of transmission and leaking down side of motor from underneath the intake. Upon further inspection noticed valley of engine full of oil. Added about 3 quarts of oil and drove car 30 miles light went off. I found multiple tsbs about the oil filter housing. Called dealer they said yep it's a issuse and parts 286.. During the repair after I removed the intake I was able to confirm that it appeared to be the oil filter adapter housing leaking oil. In filled the engine valley with oil. I replaced the part plus new intake gaskets and then drained all the oil and coolant. Ho

Emergency brake pedal assembly failed when pedal was depressed. Vehicle has no emergency brake/parking brake until emergency brake pedal assembly is replaced. Vehicle is 38 months old and has 31,000 miles. Vehicle stationary, parked on grade. Had to block the wheels to ensure against roll back.

The tire pressure sensor light stays on even though all tires are aired to correct pressure.
