The instrument cluster that shows the odometer and fuel gauge randomly doesn't appear when I turn on my car. It usually happens when it is cold outside (less than 55-ish). The screen will turn on sometime after driving 4-10 miles. At first the screen will look garbled, but then it will be fine. It looks like a ton of people are reporting this problem.
It's a documented issue but not catastrophic. 107 complaints have been filed. Repairs average $850 and most owners catch it before it causes a breakdown.
Across the 51 complaints that reported odometer mileage, most electrical failures cluster between 30,000 and 64,000 miles, with the median around 50,000.
