Purchased used car. Airbag light is on with adult passenger in passenger side seat. Nissan said this VIN was not part of recall. They said cost to repair is $2000 and it's not covered under warranty.

The inactive passenger's airbag which indicates that the passenger airbag is disabled stays illuminated even when an adult sits in the seat. This is intermittent. Sometimes restarting the car will no other changes will fix the issue (the light stops being illuminated). I have no idea whether this relates to the airbag itself, the sensor, or the light. *js
