There was a 4x4 warning light in Dec 2024. The dealership checked and provided a quote for a new PTU, but said we could keep driving until repair, just not to use 4x4. Then we received a recall notice for the PTU from Jeep. Have been trying to get it fixed since. The dealership says there are no parts and no remedy for the recall. The Jeep Recall team says to take it to the dealership to get it fix, pay out of pocket then get reimbursed. The Jeep Recall team does not understand there are no parts available. Twice the recall team has closed the recall case number without following up if the repair was complete. This was my wife's vehicule. In Jan and Feb of 2025 we started to have loss of power while driving in traffic, so it has been sitting idle since. I had a DMV non op on it for time, b
The PTU caused the vehicle to have random grinding sounds from the drive train. There was a service 4wd engine light immediately. Took to the dealer 5/5/25 and was told about the recall of the PTU but no fix was available. I was told to keep driving and the vehicle around late December completely lost all forward gears on the highway. I was luckily able to coast to the shoulder and had it towed back to the dealer. Very lucky to not happen crossing traffic. The check engine light was also on at this point. The dealer informed me that it was in need of a new PTU and that there was still no fix for this problem. This is almost 1 year from the recall being issued. Unacceptable by any standards. Thank you
Stuttering after stopping and stuttering when starting engine. Stutters when trying to get on highway.
We have been advised by a Jeep Dealer that this vehicle's PTU is failing and needs to be replaced immediately before the car can be driven again. There is a current recall on other 2019 Jeep Cherokees with the same issue, "Loss of Drive Power from Damaged PTU", but our Jeep is not covered under this recall although it exhibits the same symptoms and is diagnosed with a failed/damaged PTU that needs to be replace. From everything that was reviewed and reviewing the recall it is the same problem that is reflected in the recalls that Jeep made on other 2019 Jeep Cherokees. We have been quoted by the dealership that this is a $3000 fix and when we contact Chrsyler/Jeep, FCA Stellantis customer service, they are not willing to assist with getting this fixed on the vehicle. There appears to be
I was in an automatic car wash and after it was finished my Jeep would not engage into drive from neutral. I had the automatic engine shut down turned off. I tried multiple time from shifting from neutral into drive. I also restarted my Jeep twice and on the second time it started and I could drive away.
Current mileage 120,287 have owned since purchased in 2019. On 12/28/2025 experienced a loud pop and an apparent disconnect of power to drive wheels, place car in neutral and back into drive seemed to drive normal. After driving another 12 miles and turning onto a side road experienced the occurrence again. We began having pops and vibrations as early as 2023 predominantly during an acceleration following a turn. On 10/19/2024, mileage 98,975, I requested maintenance as “developed slack in the drive train. When slowing down it bumps, when accelerating, mostly from a stop, it bangs and slips when shifting”, however despite having a tech drive with me only the hesitation was noticed. The concluded “trans no problem found at this time.” The bangs have intermittently continued but I had neve

What happened : The vehicle experienced a sudden electrical failure and loss of normal shutdown control. The vehicle would not start or turn over. After repeated attempts, it eventually started, at which point all dashboard lights began flashing uncontrollably. The engine continued running even after the ignition was turned off and the key was removed. The only way to shut the vehicle down was to disconnect the battery. This created a safety concern due to the inability to control the vehicle’s electrical systems or safely shut off the engine. The failure occurred without prior warning. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership for inspection. Diagnostics confirmed a failure of the Body Control Module (BCM). The Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) was also found to be non-func
The radio has started switching channels will not stay on one set station. Along with radio switching the touch screen also changes from maps to calling 911 and making sos calls, the back up camera will turn on while driving down roadway. The screen is constantly blinking and changing causes major distraction especially at night when it catches your eye. It is a major distraction while driving.
While driving the SUV shuts off completely. No engine power, no lights, no steering. This has happened 6 times leaving the SUV in the dark with no lights with children int he car. The SUV shuts down while in motion, at 45mph speeds on county roads and at high speed 70 MPH + on turnpike. I am scared for my life. Dealer is not helping me. I put the last date in. It happened 6 times.
Without any previous warnings, the car stopped in the middle of the drive. Then the battery warning turned on, after trying to turn it back on.
When stoped car turned off. Car cant turn on and I need to wait a while. When stoped and going to turn it turns off. It stalls a lot especially when stoped at a light or stop sign.
The vehicle experienced a sudden and catastrophic failure of the powertrain/engine system. Based on dealer inspection, the failure requires complete replacement of the engine long block assembly, indicating an internal engine failure rather than a minor or maintenance-related issue. The vehicle and failed components are available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of others were placed at significant risk. The vehicle first shut off completely while I was proceeding through a four-way stop intersection, forcing me to restart the vehicle while stopped in the middle of the intersection. Later, while driving on a very busy highway, the vehicle again lost power and became completely inoperable. I was barely able to maneuver the vehicle onto the shoulder, narrowly avoiding a

I purchased a new 2019 Jeep cherokee on 6/29/19 with less than 5 miles on odometer. On 9/7/19 (less than 1k miles), I started car, drove halfway down block and the steering completely locked. Power steering light went on and car was not drivable. Called dealership, who was very accommodating, and they towed the car and gave us a loaner. After several days, the dealer was unable to come up with a solution so they opened a case with Chrysler. After three weeks, the entire steering column was replaced, which seems like a safety issue in itself so I did not take the car on the highway or on long trips. For the first couple of weeks, the repair seemed fine, but then the steering column/wheels started making loud grinding noises and thumps while parking and pulling out of parking spaces. Now it
Around 2:30 am on december 30, 2020 I was driving home on the freeway. It was raining a little bit but nothing to what I have driven in before. I set my car to cruise at 65 MPH when all of a sudden my steering wheel started locking up. I found that my steering wheel would not turn the way I wanted it to and was veering left. I had to use some force to keep it straight and not get into other lanes. I thought I was okay until a light lit up on my dashboard. I believe it was the engine light because as I heard it go off and flash at me, my car started to stall up and then go repeatedly. As if it was hard for it to grasp on to moving forward. Last night was the scariest night of my life and I hand never had that happen to me. Almost pulled over because I thought I was going to crash. I kept I
Our brand new 2019 Jeep limited 4 x 4 with v6 engine (285 miles) was started up in our driveway I noticed the battery light was on. The dashboard stated the start/stop function was no longer working. The seat would not move for driver 2. We needed to get to an event and attempted to pull out of the driveway when we noticed the power steering was not working. We returned the car to its spot on the driveway. The car was started this morning with no battery icon showing and no dashboard memo. I'm afraid to drive this vehicle and will get it to a dealership.

Jeep has a safety feature so they say that causes the car to turn off while driving if the oil in your brand new vehicle gets low. This happened many times once in the middle of an intersection. I called my dealer who told me its normal and to change my oil even though my onboard dash said I was fine no oil warning light just the car turns off while driving. Very dangerous and it is not easy to restart . I was slowing down for a redlight the light turned green and my car turned off causing driver behind me to almost hit me I was panicked. This happened many times more and I contacted Jeep dealer and they told me to change my oil and it wont happen again. To have a car shut off instead of an oil warning light is extremely dangerous why not use the light it came with. That is not
The vehicle shuts off when approaching 3500 miles. This happens when the vehicle is in motion regardless of speed rendering the vehicle extremely difficult to maneuver. The Jeep was taken to dealer and the mechanic advised that this is a known issue with some of the new Jeep cherokees containing certain Fiat motors. The vehicles now have a Fiat motor that apparently burns the engines oil every 3500 miles & the shut off is a built in 'safety mechanism' to prevent the motor from burning out due to the lack of oil. This information was not disclosed when the vehicle was purchased.

The car has been running out of coolant the past couple of months with no known visual leaking problems. I brought it to the mechanic who stated the radiator had to be replaced. No warning prior. No leaking or lights coming on. Another issue the uconnect subsystem powers on and off whenever it wants. Switches from GPS. Radio, heating and a/c. Causing distraction to the driver. I have not been able to know why it is happening. Went from several times a month to now daily.
The radio screen has delaminated and Navigation now does not work and the screen constantly shows the message “Do you want to adjust your clock settings”. Doesn’t matter if I click out via “yes”, “no” or the “ X” in the upper right corner, it just comes back on. It also makes a clicking noise and there is a flashing light on the time on the screen. This is distracting while driving, and the screen will go black when I’m backing up so I can’t see anything behind me. I am the second owner and the car is out of warranty so the dealer will not cover the cost of the repair. I have to fix it so I have my navigation and back up camera again. I did my research and apparently this is a huge problem with Jeeps and Chryslers. But no recall. This is affecting my driving with the screen flipping to tha
