Whe starting from stop sign, driveway, red light, etc. the acceleration hesitates as-if the vehicle is attempting to learn to build up for the acceleration. Several times exiting these places, vehicles have had time to near my truck in traffic and cause a motor vehicle crash.

Throttle lag out of nowhere which puts me and family in danger in random times
The truck has a lag when accelerating from a stop, when the throttle finally figured out that it needs to go it lunges extremely fast, happened today in the Walmart parking lot, almost ran over someone because it shot me across the lane to the next parking space,
The hybrid version of the Toyota Tundra uses the same base V35A-derived engine architecture, block casting, bearing design, and oiling system as the recalled non-hybrid vehicles. Toyota has not demonstrated that hybrid engines were manufactured differently or are immune to the defect that prompted the recall. In towing conditions, an internal combustion engine failure creates an immediate safety hazard even if limited electric propulsion remains available. Electric-only operation provides severely reduced power, limited speed, and restricted torque, making highway merging, grade climbing, or maintaining safe traffic flow unsafe while towing. Retaining minimal electric motion does not equate to maintaining safe propulsion under load. Additionally, a catastrophic engine failure may introduce
2-3 second throttle lag after pressing pedal from rolling stops and sudden lurches from engine when it decides to go. From dead stops - 2-3 second throttle lag as well and acceleration lurches that are so strong that sometimes it will chirp the tires when it decides to finally go.
I'm having an issue my 2022 Toyota Tundra having incredible throttle lag issues involves a delay and sudden surge when accelerating from a stop, creating a safety concern, often described as a "dead pedal". It has caused me to get into numerous situations where i could've gotten hit by other vehicles. It is so dangerous! The dealership is unable to fix it and says to disconnect the battery regularly to try and "help" the issue.
I am submitting this complaint regarding Toyota’s decision to exclude hybrid vehicles from an active safety recall affecting non-hybrid Toyota Tundra models equipped with the same twin-turbo V6 engine architecture. Toyota has stated that hybrid vehicles are excluded because they retain motive power through the electric drive system in the event of an internal combustion engine failure. This rationale does not address real-world safety risk and does not reflect the mechanical realities of towing or highway operation. The hybrid version of the Toyota Tundra uses the same base V35A-derived engine architecture, block casting, bearing design, and oiling system as the recalled non-hybrid vehicles. I've had a recall procedure done to correct an acceleration hesitation, but the problem still persists. When accelerating from a stop into traffic there is a significant acceleration pause before the pickup actually accelerates. I've had several close calls to being hit by oncoming traffic because of the inability to merge into traffic as planned due to the acceleration pause. The pickup currently has just over 56,000 miles on it.

In certain situations when stopping briefly and then accelerating the pedal is dead. For a short amount of time the accelerator does not work and then it launches the truck forward aggressively. There has been a few instances when I am turning left and the truck does not move and I am stuck in the middle of oncoming traffic before the truck suddenly lurches forward.
My 2022 Toyota Tundra 1794 transmission has always shifted hard on the initial start up and while accelerating when changing lanes. Since the truck was new I thought it was due to being new and required a break in period. Now I have own the truck for 15 months the problem still exist. I took the truck to the Toyota Dealership in Moss Point Mississippi in November 2023 and they informed me there were an update computer software program needed to be installed on my Tundra and the problem would be resolved. The problem still exist, the jerking of the transmission has me afraid to drive it.
Truck lunges forward while driving ar highway speeds as if you have been lightly bumped in the bumper by someone. You need to give at least a 6 car car distance between your truck and car in front to prevent a crash. Truck has also been shutting off while exiting the highway. Will get "Put into "P" Start engine" as well as, "Stearing Pressure Low" alert on dash in instrument cluster information cluster. Also at low speeds in bumper to bumper traffic is shifting hard from 2nd to 1st gear. Truck was drop off to dealer on 12/18/25 after asking them to take it due to feeling unsafe driving it for 3 days.
There is a well-known issue with these new model Toyota tundras where there are problems with acceleration. When at a stop and pulling out from the stop, the engine and acceleration hesitate, and there is a flag of between 2 to 5 seconds before the vehicle starts moving. The gas pedal is depressed and there is a hesitation or lag of several seconds before forward movement progresses. There was a Toyota safety bulletin update that was supposed to fix the problem and it did not. Many users are still reporting the same problem and it’s just as bad as it was before. This creates a massive safety issue when pulling into traffic or trying to increase speed to keep up with the flow of traffic when initially pulling out. My truck specifically is experiencing this anywhere from one to th
At a stop while the vehicle is running and in drive, there is a delay of a second or two once the throttle is pushed to accelerate. This causes me to push the accelerator more thinking I’m not pressing hard enough, resulting in the truck accelerating faster than I’d like. When pulling out into traffic, the hesitation of the vehicle causes me to not merge at the moment I attempt to.

When pressing the gas pedal, there multiple times where my vehicle has lag time in acceleration, which can lead to a delay of getting on the road and potentially causing an accident. There have been no manufacturer warnings and no warning lamps illuminate when this occurs.
The fuel line recall is still pending post temporary fix late ’23 early ‘24

Vehicle failed to accelerate after I attempted to merge onto 3 lane road from a driveway. No chimes, warning or emergency braking occurred but the vehicle had no response for a second or two. I captured the incident on my dash cam. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
There is a throttle lag when I depress the acceleration pedal, the vehicle doesnt not move for a period of time ranging from 0.5 seconds to 3 seconds. This is more prominent when performing a creeping start where the vehicle has not fully stopped.

My 2022 had a new crate engine put in at 26,000 miles in approx June 2025 (told me it would be 2 days but in less than 24hrs the service advisor called and told me it was completed) and from the second I picked up my truck and started it at the dealership, I heard a loud, fast ticking noisy sound coming from under the hood so I popped my hood and it sounded like a diesel engine and as I started driving I felt a weird popping/vibrating noise when turning either right or left at slow speeds and it felt like there were no shocks or motor mounts or something was bent and the rear end was skipping and making a loud thud when slightly stepping on gas pedal and Toyota said it's all normal. It also lost all power while I was driving 2 days after I picked it up from engine replacement along with

When the radio is turned completely off to reset the Bluetooth the entire dashboard lights turn on and a malfunction warning is displayed that XYZ system is not working to call dealer to schedule appointment. There is an issue with the windows not rolling up either.
