I am writing to report a serious issue with my vehicle’s throttle response. When accelerating from a stop, the vehicle consistently hesitates and feels as though it may stall, leaving me vulnerable in traffic or at intersections. This problem has already resulted in three very close calls, two of which required police involvement. I no longer feel safe operating this vehicle under these conditions. I have attempted to trade out of the vehicle, but the offers I’ve received have been significantly reduced due to the widely known nature of this issue. Please advise on the next steps to address this matter. Safety is my top priority, and I believe this situation requires immediate attention. Thank you for your prompt response.

I have a 2023 I-force max hybrid and I’m concerned about the non hybrid model engine shares the same engine characteristics and parts use for the I-force max hybrid engine. I want to be on record if I have an engine failure due to debris in Toyota engine manufacturing process for my vehicle. On December 23, 2025, while driving at highway speeds, I began to hear a loud knocking sound. The sounds increased and a "low oil pressure" warning appeared on the dash. I began to loose power and the knocking sounds increased. I was able to carefully get the truck off the highway and parked to be towed to a local dealership. The loss of power while on the highway put myself and my family at risk due to not being able to keep at speed with traffic, and the possibility of being stuck on the side of a highway if I was unable to make it to the next exit. The vehicle experienced the same symptoms prior to the engine seizing in July of 2025. At that time the vehicle was not included in a recall campaign, and a short block replacement, rather than a complete engine replacement, was complet

The hybrid version of the Toyota Tundra uses the same base V35A-derived engine architecture, block casting, bearing design, and oiling system as the recalled non-hybrid vehicles. Toyota has not demonstrated that hybrid engines were manufactured differently or are immune to the defect that prompted the recall. In towing conditions, an internal combustion engine failure creates an immediate safety hazard even if limited electric propulsion remains available. Electric-only operation provides severely reduced power, limited speed, and restricted torque, making highway merging, grade climbing, or maintaining safe traffic flow unsafe while towing. Retaining minimal electric motion does not equate to maintaining safe propulsion under load. Additionally, a catastrophic engine failure may introdu

My Toyota Tundra (2023) has a recall notice due to possible debris in the engine that is over a year and a half old. This still has not been repaired by the manufacturer. I can hear sounds like knocking coming from the engine and I am concerned that the vehicle could stall or stop while driving on the highway with my children and cause a severe crash. How do I get the vehicle engine replaced expeditiously? The Recall is 24V381.

2023 Toyota Tundra experienced repeated engine stalling and vehicle lock-up while driving on public roads, including in an intersection. During one incident, the driver was thrown forward into the steering wheel. A Toyota dealer attempted repair by replacing the neutral/park safety switch, but the repair failed and the dangerous condition persisted immediately after. The vehicle has been removed from use due to safety concerns. The issue is consistent with known engine stalling concerns affecting certain 2022–2024 Toyota Tundra vehicles. The vehicle is unsafe to operate.

Throttle lagging, truck won’t accelerate at low speeds and is very jerky

12/22/2025 ODI #11706585.0

whenever driving my vehicle, there is noticible delay/lag when attempting to accelerate. This occurs primarily from when first starting from a compelte stop, but it also noticible in other scenarios. When stopped at a stop sign or traffic light, for example, first accelerating produces a lag and delay in movement of the vehicle. The dealership has "reflashed" the transmission which seemed to rmeedy this but only for a very short time. The same issue returned quite soon after. This lag does not produce any warning or error lights or messages. Many other users on vehicle-specific forums + internate groups have all reported sumilar behavior with no permanent solution to date.

A few complaints: #1: First is the infotainment system continuously requests a pin be entered. I would enter the pin, but the pin screen pops up again and again whenever the system is on. Had the dealership look at it, they stated the info system has the latest software and I was instructed to contact Toyota. After a 2+hour phone call, resetting app passwords a few times, resetting pin a few times, starting the truck a certain way, and other things I cannot completely remember, finally got it to accept the pin and stop pin request screen from popping up. That worked for about 1 week, and since then the screen pops up. I no longer try to enter the pin just hit the x button (kind of hard and dangerous entering 6 digit pin 30 times while going 75 on the highway). I would estimate screen poppi

While driving today the engine check light turned on, and the engine turned off (stalled) while in the middle of the road with a good amount of traffic around me. I pulled off to the side of the road and gave the engine a minute. I turned the truck back on again, the engine sounded very rough turning on and rough while driving. After a minute or two of driving, the engine light turned on again, and the engine stopped (stalled) again while in the middle of the road. I stopped this time for two minutes or so and turned the engine on again. I then proceeded to try to make it home, which I accomplished, but the truck's engine sounded rough and with a chattering sound (engine knocking) even when idling. I have received a recall notice letter concerning " Certain 2022-2024 Model Year Tundr

When I drive the vehicle for a period of time and use a 1/3 of the fuel in the vehicle and park on non level surface: Meaning the front of the vehicle is pointed up and rear is lower the fuel gauge will register full on vehicle restart. Even if I drive the vehicle around and park it on a level surface and restart the vehicle it still fails to show the correct amount of fuel in the vehicle. In addition it will slowly subtract fuel based upon driving that is inline with normal fuel usage: It never registers that you are actually 1/3 lower then indicated on the gas gauge. I have identify two ways to address the issue of the gauge not registering the correct amount of fuel in the tank: 1) Refill the truck with maximum amount of fuel 2) Disconnect the negative battery terminal, let the truck

When rolling in to a Round About (rotary) at a slow speed and the applying throttle the truck takes a second or tow before increase forward motion. The lag time is usually around 1.5 seconds and when the time has lapsed it lurches forward. This hesitation in forward motion has put me and my passengers in danger of being T-Boned multiple times. The modes most often used and notice this delay is ECO, Normal, and comfort. It's been this way since day one and when mentioned to the dealer I then get a response that it is normal.

After coming to a stop and then trying to accelerate, I experienced a lag or throttle hesitation when trying to accelerate again. After pushing the pedal, nothing happens, then all of a sudden it accelerates abruptly.

In some cases when slowing down to a very low speed an trying to to accelerate again. There can be either a brief (1/2 second) or a very long ( > 1/2 second) delay between pressing the accelerator and the engine responding. Because of this delay its very hard to gauge when and how the vehicle will respond. In some conditions this can be a safety concern as the vehicle behaves unpredictably. I was able to verify this with engine logging data the data shows that the computer acknowledges the accelerator position but fails to advance the throttle or by any means add power for a period of time and then behaves in a expected manner after a delay between 1/2 to 1 second. The best I can gather the problem happens in a timing window when the transmission shifts from a higher gear to 1st gear. I

The contact stated that since purchasing the vehicle, new, they noticed that when applying the brake pedal there would be a loud squeaking sound emitting from the vehicle. The failure was most prominent after the initial startup and when driving during rainy weather conditions. The contact stated the noise had increased in volume over time. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed the brakes had failed and needed to be replaced. The dealer informed them of the part being recalled under warranty coverage and that the replacement would be covered. Traveling on highwy bat 70 mph the fuel tank protection panel 77606/77641C came loose in the front after bracket support 77511 broke and the air pressure bent the protector down at the front and it hit the roadway and bounced up and banged against the tank area. I stopped, assessed damage, took picture and got off highway and drove home slowly. The subsequent part inspection showns fabrication errors in the part with fatigue failure and contaminated material. This could have been catastrofic failure with ontinued impact to fuel tank.
