2026 Hyundai Ioniq 9
This one hits certain 2026 Ioniq 9 models with the Limited, Calligraphy, or Calligraphy Design trim. The second-row power seats may not detect a person in the way, so the seats can keep moving after they hit someone during powered functions like the automatic fold-and-stow. A person, especially a child, can get trapped by the moving seat and hurt. Hyundai will inspect and update the seat software either over the air or at a dealer, at no charge, and owner letters go out November 9, 2026. Until it’s fixed, keep kids out of the rear seats and away from that area during any power-folding operation. This is NHTSA campaign 26V588000.
2021 Audi Q3
Volkswagen is recalling certain 2019-2021 Audi Q3 vehicles, along with some 2018 Tiguan and 2018-2019 Atlas models. One of the bolts holding the steering rack to the subframe can corrode and snap. If that bolt breaks, the steering rack housing can break too, and a broken housing means you can lose steering control and crash. The fix is straightforward: dealers replace the right-side steering rack mounting bolt free of charge. Letters are expected to mail November 10, 2026. This is NHTSA campaign 26V590000, and VW lists it under numbers 48LG and 48VT.
2025 Volkswagen Tiguan
Certain 2025 Tiguan models have a software error that can make the body control module reset itself. When that happens the ignition can switch off and stall the engine, and you can lose warning lights, exterior lighting, and the rearview camera. Any of those, an unexpected stall, dark exterior lights, or a dead backup camera, raises your crash risk. Volkswagen says these trucks also fail to meet FMVSS 101, 102, 108, and 111. Dealers will update the BCM software at no cost, and owner letters are set to mail November 6, 2026. This is NHTSA campaign 26V587000, VW number 57KL.
