During the course of normal, routine and non-commercial use of the vehicle, the driver's seat became loose and began to rock/move. Took vehicle to Nissan dealer for inspection and diagnosis. Dealer service department advised that seat mount for driver's seat was broken at a weld spot, compromising the integrity of the mounting. No collission or other abnormal event precipitated the incident. This would seem to indicate a manufacturing or design defect in the seat mount with serious safety implications.

2007 Nissan murano ,no accident, failure of drivers seat frame, cracked under normal driving conditions less than 50,000 miles. This could certainly be a safety issue since it affects the driver while driver is driving, should be a recall . Fix is quoted at 1,200.00 dollars waiting for parts currently. Old parts still in car. *tr

About two weeks ago, I begin to notice that the driver's seat was rocking every time I turned. This is not a slight rocking. I would have to say that the seat moves 2-3 inches. I was actually bumping into the center console. It seems to be loose on the left side. After taking it to the local Nissan dealership, it was diagnosed as a "broken bracket in the link arm." there is an extended bumper-to-bumper warranty on the car, but Nissan has declined to cover the part. I do not view this as a cosmetic issue or a minor problem. I have true concerns about what would happen in any type of accident with a loose seat, especially in a rollover. *tr

The power driver seat has a "weak link". It's not a "track" it's a bracket that was not designed strong enough and eventually shears off at two points driver seat is loose or broken bracket part number 87450-ca684 was the "offending" part per my invoice. *tr

1. We own a 2007 Nissan murano. While driving at approximately 45 MPH, we heard a "crack" sound in the car. It was immediately evident that the seat's back was able to move in a manner that is not normal. It was able to shift/twist to the side rather than be stable in a front-facing position. This occurred with a vehicle that was only driven under normal suburban conditions (not used off road or in extreme situations) and with approximately 55,000 miles. There were no special circumstances or unusual driving, jarring, or trauma to the vehicle or its seat in the days, months, and years leading up to this failure. 2. A metal seat bracket (seat lift frame assembly) in the front driver's seat broke on 12/20/2010. This has a consequence of the front seat being able to move about inclu

When starting the car from a parked positioned after running a few errands during a slight ice/snow fall mid-morning and wipers did not move when activated. I turned the wipers on high and listened for the motor which was running but it seemed wiper were detached. I spent 2 days driving to and from work at night with rain and snow fall each way. I was dangerous but I could not call in. My family and I have been looking up this issue and apparently it is very common for many different types of nissans to have this linkage brake.

Seal on Nissan murano 2007 with 77,000 miles malfunctioned/exploded causing oil to leak damaging the transfer case. Both my mechanic and the service area of the dealership mentioned that they had not seen anything like this. Dealership came back with a quote of about $4,500; car is not under warranty. I told them not to service it at this time; that was unacceptable and should not happen on a 3 year car despite the mileage; Nissan guarantees 100,000. I took my case to the cooperate office in tennessee where they set up file. Valerie, the regional specialist contacted me within about a week and explained that since it was no longer under warranty they would not offer any assistance with the cost. I explained that whether it was under warranty or not was not the issue; the problem is that ni

I purchased my car labor day of 2010. In april 2011, my car was diagnosed with having a cracked transfer case. I spent $1800 to have it fixed and now december 27, 2011 my transfer case is cracked again. I have only had my car for a little over a year and I don't believe I should be going through this and putting our more money when I owe so much on it. I don't understand what is going on but I am convinced it is a manufacture problem... *tr

Hello, I own a 2007 Nissan murano and have just had an issue where the entire sub frame has broken in half due to rust. The car is not even 10 years old (160k miles) at this point and I was wondering if such a dangerous issue would be eligible for repair via Nissan? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Last year my drivers side front seat anchor/bracket broke. Poor design. Rear sub frame rusted out resulting in the rear left wheel to nearly fall off while driving. This year my wife was advised by a person in a vehicle behind her that the rear wheel was ready to launch. Road salt caused rusting to sub frame body mount. Again poor design and material. *tr
