2014 Chevrolet Impala owner complaints

Fuel pump has been replaced twice. 1st time on nov 28,2014(12,314 miles) and then again on dec 28,2015(30,311 miles). The engine light came on 12/04/15(29,448 miles) and the denton,tx dealership service dept was closed since it was a saturday afternoon.however we were advised that the car was safe to drive home. Light went off the next day and the waco,tx dealership could not duplicate the issue on december 21,2015 (29,848). Engine light came back on december 26,2015. Same issue as before. Also note the fuel pressure sensor was replaced on june 06,2015 (21,408 miles). This vehicle has been in & out of the dealership numerous times but issue cannot be duplicated unless the check engine light is on. No codes displaying. The front camera collision, lane departure, blind spot warning system are all part of an electronic system that warns the driver. In 2014, Chevrolet located these modules in the rear bumper and did not sufficiently protect them from the weather elements, so water gets into them and can cause a fire, and failures from losing your dash gauges to the vehicle not starting. Chevy was nice enough to issue a service action, but limited to a 6 month time frame for repairs. They issued n172097060, which was available from april 2019 to january 2020. This was nice if it failed during that time. Mine failed for the first time in october 2017, which was repaired under warranty, and again in april of 2020, which was just out of the warranty period. I have a 2014 Chevrolet impala with 34,000 miles. I was informed my ac compressor has a leak and needs to be replaced. All vehicle maintenance has been completed by the dealer roger dean Chevrolet. They gave me a quote of $1,470 to repair my car. Im very disappointed that this could happen on my car so soon. I have bought 6 vehicles from this manufacturer and feel this is unjust. Please help.

The truck is filling up with water and causing a mildew smell in the car from the water gettingnstale.

For the second time since purchasing this vehicle new, the blind spot detection system is failing. When this system fails it slowly takes out the rest of the vehicles electrical systems, even those not related to any collision avoidance system. The first time I had it repaired it was out of the original warranty meaning I had to pay the approx. $1000 bill. A year or so later received a letter from gm saying that that repair would now be covered up to 6 years/80,000 mile and if I had already paid for such repair that I could file a claim and they would reimburse me for the previous work. Well amazingly they reimbursed me for the first repair, which was great! Except now, the same exact thing has happened again and I am now past the 6 year 80,000 mile mark. Gm needs to redesign this system

The vehicle is equipped with a vehicle collision warning device that is intended to warn the driver of a vehicle in front that you are to close to and closing range without braking. On about 1/2 dozen occasions the vehicle's early detection system has engaged without any vehicles in front. These occurrences seem to be on days when it is raining and their are reflections off the road, or very sunny days (again causing reflections). The flashing light, loud alarm, and interruption with regular audio is very jarring (scary). On one occasion I applied my brakes very hard because of the alarm (but there was no car in front) - this almost caused the car behind to hit me. Tl* the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet impala. The contact stated that the air bag and service air bag warning indicators illuminated. Also, the vehicle exhibited difficulty starting and experienced electrical system failure. The contact stated that the instrumental panel darkened, the rpms provided incorrect readings, and the turn signals failed to work. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the battery and the alternator; however, the repair did not correct the failures. The contact stated that the vehicle had front vented heated seats and should be included in NHTSA campaign numbers 15v465000 (air bags). The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the VIN was not included in the recall. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Th

I was driving in a snowstorm and all of the sudden the ABS, Stabilitrak, and power steering went out. I'm frustrated that this is the 2nd electrical safety issue that I have experienced. Both of which have been reported by several drivers and still no recalls!

I've had an issue with my 2014 Chevy impala ltz getting locked up when turning the steering wheel. This started a few months ago, I took it to the dealership but they were unable to recreate the problem. The first incident occured 09/2017, I was driving on the highway going 60 MPH, upon switching lanes it felt like the steering wheel jammed and locked for a second and the electrical power went out on the radio and dash. On 12/21/16 while merging onto interstate 10 in tucson, az, the vehicle was going approximately 65 MPH when a "engine power reduced" sign popped up, the vehicle slowed down to 30 MPH without warning and shifting down through all gears nearly red lining the rpms and causing an rear-end collision. Was able to move the vehicle off the freeway and took it into local auto-zone for testing. The test came back as a "throttle sensor malfunction". The vehicle now doesn't feel safe to drive, and will not accelerate over 45 MPH without shaking and feeling like the transmission is going to give out. Called the local Chevy dealership and was told the cost was going to vary between $400-1,000 with a $100 test fee up front. The problem that I have with my 2014 impala is that the headlights do not illuminate the road very well. The light beam is narrow projecting straight out in front of the car. Very little illumination to the sides of the road. This complaint may sound trivial but let me assure you that I'm not Chevy bashing. This impala is a beautiful car, I love it except for the headlights. This is a real problem for me. If I had taken a test drive at night I would not have purchased this car. Hard to test drive at night in july. I expected much better lighting on a car like this. A halogen bulb in a well designed and poisoned fixture works great. I copied the above from a prior complaint. The headlamps do not illuminate the road sufficiently to see oncoming features safely. Based on my research, I'm not the first one to complain about this issue. *dt

Side detection system failure. Special coverage n172096060. Also there is a creaking noice in front area once I put car in drive. When I press down on brake there is a lot of vibration on the left driver side.

Breaks squeal constantly they are new pads and breaks can find any problems have taken it to several auto shops and dealerships and as about any recall issues it seems as if they are locked up I can not take it through a drive through car wash it will not go up on the rollers the back brakes are like they have locked or I have the emergency brake on and in reverse is when they are dragging this is the first complaint that I have found that is the same issue as mine I have called Chevrolet they never mentioned anything about complaints or issues
