Is there a fix? Manufacturer service bulletins

The manufacturer has issued service bulletins covering steering on this vehicle — documented repair instructions, service campaigns, or warranty extensions sent to dealers. A TSB isn't a recall (it's not a free safety remedy), but it's the manufacturer acknowledging the issue and how to fix it.

Service Bulletin RSB-10-23-001-1 Jun 2023

Rivian is launching a technical service bulletin for some model year 2022 and 2023 R1T and R1S vehicles. In some situations, the driver may notice a slight vibration or oscillation of the steering wheel at 70 mph or above, causing a perceived quality issue. Steering function is not affected. Upon customer complaint of a vibrating steering wheel, Rivian will replace the steering wheel with a version that is less prone to vibration.

Service Bulletin RCA-10-23-002-1 Apr 2023

Rivian is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some model year 2022 and 2023 R1T and R1S vehicles. On these vehicles, the steering wheel may not be properly aligned to the steering rack. This condition is noticeable to the customer but would not result in any changes in the performance of the vehicle. Rivian will inspect the steering wheel alignment and, if necessary, realign the components. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer satisfaction and to ensure the quality of Rivian vehicles.

Service Bulletin RCA-78-22-005-1 Apr 2022

Rivian is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some model year 2022 R1T vehicles that may have been built with a low clearance condition between the cowl harness and the steering column. If the cowl harness touches the steering column and this condition persists over time, the vehicle may experience a wear-through condition of the wires in the cowl harness. The potential wear-through condition may affect the steering angle sensor and/or turn signal wiring. If the steering angle sensor wiring is affected, the vehicle will enter into a reduced performance safe-state mode and a "Limited Performance Mode" indicator light will illuminate on the driver display alerting the driver to hav
