Look — Jeep's speed-control story is well-documented in the NHTSA file, and it ain't pretty. 911 complaints across 74 year-model entries from 2005 to 2024. Not a small number. Complaints are spread across the lineup with no single year carrying the load. That tells you it's a platform pattern, not a fluke. 2 fatality reports on file with NHTSA tied to this category on Jeep vehicles. That elevates this from nuisance to safety-critical. Average shop fix runs about $600 — not catastrophic, but it adds up over time. Across the 500 complaints reporting odometer mileage, the median failure lands at about 53,227 miles. If the car has ADAS, take a test drive that actually exercises it. False AEB triggers and adaptive-cruise drop-outs are common patterns.
